Chuck is finally ready to be accredited as special agent. His hesitation to commit for life subsides when he's allowed to pick a team for his new posting, three years in Rome posing as a millionaire. To his horror, Sara prefers to go to DC with Shaw, believing his red test proves him a killer, no longer the man she fell for, and telling the truth would betray life-savior Casey. The Ring director set a trap for Shaw, who thinks he volunteers to sacrifice his life to wipe out the LA ring HQ, but is actually motivated to defect. Written by

It is revealed that the woman Sarah shot as part of her red test was Daniel Shaw's wife Evelyn Shaw. Despite the fact that Casey was dismissed and denied access to the Castle, as seen in previous episodes, in this one, Sarah calls for his help through morse code, and seconds later he can be seen inside the castle as if he still had complete access to it. Brigadier General Beckman commits a number of uniform errors: 1) She wears her ribbons in the wrong order. She displays the Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal and the Global War on Terror Sevice Medal at a lower order of precedence than the Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) and the Kuwait Liberation Medal (Government of Kuwait). United States Military Awards are always given higher precedence than foreign military awards on any US Military uniform. She also wears the Humanitarian Service Medal ahead of her Global War on Terror Medals. This medal is of lower precedence than any of her campaign medals. 2) She wears her service jacket with the tab of the left epaulet over her collar. The tab is always tucked under the collar. Wasn't this the plan? There's nothing stopping us from being together now. I've passed my spy test.
That's why I can't be with you, okay? You're not - you're not the same guy I fell for.
How? Why? Because I'm a spy? How am I different?
You killed somebody, Chuck! I saw you kill the mole.
