Celebrating it's 2nd decade as Chicago's largest and longest running Horror Convention, the Flashback Weekend returns to the Crowne Plaza Chicago O'Hare in Rosemont, Illinois on August 9th-11th. And FEARnet will be there as a sponsor providing some cool goodies and swags to attendees (while supplies last). On top of the usual plethora of dealers booths, special events and screenings and more, a slew of genre celebrities will be on hand for autographs including legendary director George A. Romero, actor Danny Glover, reunion casts for 'Pet Semetary,' 'The Lords Of Salem,' and 'Dawn Of The Dead.' There will also be a slew of cool screenings at the Muvico Theaters Rosemont 18 located right next door to the Crowne Plaze which include 'You're Next,' 'Hatchet III,' the never-before-seen lost 'Trancers' sequel 'Trancers 1.5: City Of Angels.' Sounds like an awesome time! »

Changing up its programming and making sure its stars are everywhere has helped land WWE one of its biggest advertisers: Doritos.
The Frito-Lay chip brand, owned by PepsiCo, will serve as the presenting sponsor of “SummerSlam,” WWE’s most popular PPV after “WrestleMania.” Event takes place Aug. 18 from Los Angeles’ Staples Center. WWE hosts its “Money in the Bank” PPV today.
Financial terms of the marketing deal were not revealed, but Doritos will use “SummerSlam” to promote its Doritos Jacked line of chips on air and online.
As part of that effort, Doritos will give away “SummerSlam” viewing parties, hosted by WWE Legends Sgt. Slaughter and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, through a national promotion at Dollar General stores. That promotion runs through July 21.
The companies will also conduct a fan correspondent search (in Brooklyn, N.Y., Austin, Texas, Laredo, Texas, Green Bay, Wis. and Sacramento, Calif.) to interview wrestlers on the WWE app, »

Nerd alert: In July, you will see a crazy fanboy or two in a “Star Wars” costume running across the Golden Gate Bridge with a lightsaber in their hand and a crazy grin spread across their face.
After successfully raising over $100,000 from over 400 runners for the Make-a-Wish Foundation last year, Course of the Force is ready to run its second Star Wars-themed relay race to San Diego’s Comic-Con International this summer.
As is the case with most sequels, this year’s Course of the Force is bigger.
Lucasfilm is back to support the event, which involves more days, runners (more than 700), and a new starting line, located this year at George Lucas’ Skywalker Ranch, just outside San Francisco.
Organizers wanted to begin at Star Wars’ homebase last year, but the potential logistical nightmare of producing the event for the first time had them start off smaller from the Santa Monica Pier. »

To be a part of it is something I’ll remember the rest of my life.
It all started right from the very beginning. John Cena came out to open the show and was met with relentless boos ad chants telling him he sucked and should maybe try some new things. Not in those nice of words though I’m afraid. Cena though, to his credit, has embraced the hatred from fans recently and has fun with it only adding the crowds fire. Cena challenged anyone in the back to a WWE Championship match and Mark Henry came strolling out, the »
