Eros International Plc (“Eros”), a leading global company in the Indian film entertainment industry, announced the release of the blockbuster film, English Vinglish, in South Korea on February 6, 2014. Following on the heels of the film’s success in Hong Kong and Germany last year, English Vinglish released in over 100 screens, making it one of the biggest Bollywood releases in South Korea to date.
The film, directed by Gauri Shinde, has performed exceptionally well in new markets. In Taiwan, the film was released across 6 screens in December, 2013 and amassed over Us$ 300,000, making it the second biggest grossing Bollywood film in Taiwan. English Vinglish also continues to hold a firm position in Taiwan’s top 10 charts.

Berlin – Bollywood distributor Eros Intl. is to give a 15- screen release in South Korea to its 2012 comedy “English Vinglish.” The self-distribution move points to a growing penetration of international, and East Asian markets in particular, by Indian movies.
The pic, directed by Gauri Shinde, releases Feb. 6, following recent outings in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Germany. Released in December, “Vinglish” is the second biggest Bollywood in Taiwan with a gross of more than $300,000.
“‘English Vinglish’ is a universal story that truly resonates with global audiences, especially as it relates to acceptance and the challenges of learning a new language,” said Kumar Ahuja, Eros Intl. Media’s president, business development. “In several new markets, including Asia, audiences have shown that they love Indian ethos and drama.”

One By Two is an upcoming romantic comedy which stars Abhay Deol and Preeti Desai in the leading roles. Directed by Devika Bhagat, the film is scheduled for release on 31 January and promises to be a fun-filled film that will appeal to the masses. The music has been composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, who have given us amazing albums such as Dil Chatha Hai (2001), Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003) and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011). The lyrics have been penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya, who has written songs for popular films like Chennai Express (2013) and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013).
