  Cara Mason : [halts]  Keep going. I have a stone in my boot.

  Cara Mason : [coldly]  Same feelings all men have.

• Leo : [Cara's planted the first kiss]  You know, where I come from, the man does that.

  Cara Mason : Then what are you waiting for?

• Cara Mason : What is it?

  Leo : For you.

  [offers red flower] 

  Leo : It matches the color of your leather.

  [she looks at him scornfully and storms away] 

  Leo : Have I offended you?

  Cara Mason : Flowers make me sneeze.

  Leo : Didn't last night mean anything to you?

  Cara Mason : It was pleasurable, but it doesn't make me your mate for life.

  Leo : I don't remember asking you to marry me. But I do care about you, and I think you feel the same.

  Cara Mason : [coolly]  You're mistaken.

  [Leo gives up and walks away] 

  Kahlan Amnell : [coming up from behind]  You know, I've been watching you for weeks, and I can tell you care about him.

  Cara Mason : You can't read a Mord-Sith.

  Kahlan Amnell : The Confessor in me can't, but the woman can tell you're not telling the truth. It's a hard world we live in, Cara. You don't get many chances. If you have feelings for Leo, you should tell him.
