Cute as Hell

Though irrelevant to the rest of the stand-up show, I really liked the opening with Ferrara selling his soul to sell DVDs. (It also helped she was on the cover, again, to sell DVDs.) I've read other reviews on Adam Ferrara: Funny As Hell before receiving this disc through NF, something I rarely do, and was slightly discouraged where people said it started off funny and fizzles quickly (to sum a lot of them up.) Maybe I'm just different. When I watch a comedy stand-up video, or live, it's the atmosphere that makes me laugh alongside the jokes. So, since Ferrara did start off funny, it was enough to carry me through to the end. It was enormously enjoyable, though not the best I've seen, and yet, still highly recommended. Loved the scenes with "Ramón," and his relationship woos being Catholic and dating someone Jewish. I don't want to give away too much, but it centers mostly on his family, being Italian and his Jewish (now) ex-girlfriend. Yes, pretty standard stand-up. Nevertheless, he delivers and I'm glad I rented this (sorry, you sold your soul prematurely) vs. watching it on Comedy Central. I had previously DVR'd and this version is longer and obviously uncut. I HATE edited versions of media; if I'm going to spend 2 hours of my life (well, 1 for this DVD), I might as well see the whole shenanigans.
