Bob's Burgers is heading to the big screen. A film version of the animated Fox television show has been scheduled for theatrical release on July 17, 2020, according to Deadline. An Emmy Award-winner for Best Animated Series, the show is now in its eighth season. Created by Loren Bouchard, it follows a blue-collar family that runs a hamburger restaurant. The voice cast for the situation comedy includes H. Jon Benjamin (also known for voicing the lead role in another Fox animated series, Archer) and John Roberts as the parents, with Dan Mintz, Eugene Mirman and Kristen Schaal as their three children. As Bouchard acknowledges, it's not so easy to transform a 30-minute television show into a compelling screen experience: "We know the movie has to scratch every itch...

The Belcher's are coming to the big screen, as 20 Century Fox has set a release date for an animated feature film based on the Bob's Burgers TV show.

I'm not going to lie...I'm ridiculously excited for this news.  Fox has announced the Bob's Burgers movie is coming on July 17, 2020; a prime Summer slot.  The animated series, which just started it's 8th season this past weekend, is among my favorite animated shows in recent memory (especially on Fox).

Something about the quirky family resonates and brings genuine laughs each and every time.  As such, I'm pretty freaking excited to see what kind of antics Tina, Gene, and Louise can get into on the big screen.  The series' creator, Loren Bouchard, had to say this about the announcement:

“We know the movie has to scratch every itch the fans of the show have ever had, but it also has to work »

Bob's Burgers: Season Eight Ratings

2 October 2017 1:10 PM, PDT | TVSeriesFinale.com | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

Although its ratings fell yet again last year, the Bob's Burgers TV show wasn't cancelled. It was safe, largely because it was already renewed through season eight, but also because so many more expensive Fox comedies and dramas earned even worse numbers. This year, fans don't have the luxury of knowing its status at the start of the eighth season. Will Bob's Burgers be cancelled or renewed for season nine? We'll have to wait and see, so stay tuned.
