TV Ratings: 'Big Brother' leads CBS Sunday, while 'Rising Star' drops again

1 hour ago | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

Fast National ratings for Sunday, July 27, 2014. "Big Brother," "Unforgettable" and "Reckless" were all steady for CBS, leading the network to Sunday victories in all key measures. Animation repeats put Fox in second overall (and first in the 18-34 demo), while ABC was second overall, as "Rising Star" continued to lose steam after a couple seemingly encouraging weeks. On to the numbers... Among adults 18-49, CBS averaged a 1.2 rating for Sunday night, topping Fox's 1.0 rating in the key demographic. ABC and NBC both averaged a 0.7 key demo rating for the night. Overall, CBS averaged an estimated 6.19 million viewers for Sunday primetime along with a 3.9 rating/7 share. ABC was a distant second with 3.33 million viewers and a 2.0/4, topping NBC's 2.97 million viewers and a 1.9/3. Fox averaged 2.24 million viewers and a 1.3/2 for the night. 7 p.m. - "60 Minutes" started primetime in first for CBS with 7.66 million viewers, also winning the 7 p.m. hour with »

5-minute trailer for The Simpsons/Family Guy crossover

3 hours ago | Den of Geek | See recent Den of Geek news »

Want to see how the Griffins are going to get on with the Simpsons in the forthcoming crossover episode? Step this way...

Trailer

In an attention-grabbing concept worthy of Jack Donaghy himself, Family Guy is crossing over with The Simpsons in a one-hour special. Consider our attention grabbed, Fox, well-played.

The forthcoming episode sees the Griffin family stranded in Springfield where the families' various counterparts team up to crack meta jokes about plagiarism and piggyback network scheduling, and, by the looks of this not-quite-safe-for-work trailer, to once again flog the madly popular but indubitedly dead horse of Peter fighting that chicken.

Bob's Burgers, by the way, is excellent. We should say that more often on this site.

Comic-Con attendees got an early taste of the long-awaited Simpsons-Family Guy crossover when a sneak preview of the episode aired during Saturday's Family Guy panel.

Five Simpsons Characters We Want Dead

The nearly five-minute teaser finds the Griffins stuck in Springfield, where Peter cautions his family not to drink the water: "Everybody around here looks like they have hepatitis." As the families merge, Bart introduces Stewie to his prank-call hobby (Stewie doesn't quite get the premise) and Peter and Homer bond over donuts. The friendship between the two patriarchs sours, »

Comic-Con: Watch 5-Minutes of 'Family Guy' Meets 'The Simpsons'!

26 July 2014 4:18 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Earlier this month, we reported that Family Guy will kick off Season 13 with a special one-hour premiere that crosses over with The Simpsons, in an episode entitled "The Simpsons Guy". During the Family Guy Comic-Con panel earlier today, Fox debuted a special five-minute clip that shows the Griffin clan in Family Guy somehow getting stranded in Springfield, where they meet The Simpsons.

Watch as these two Animation Domination hits share the screen together, along with a few surprise cameos from Cleveland Brown (Mike Henry) and Bob (H. Jon Benjamin) from Bob's Burgers, then read on for more details that were revealed during the panel.

Family Guy producers Steve Callaghan and Richard Appel also teased a special Christmas episode, where Jesus returns and the guys all discover that he's a virgin, as they go on a quest to get him laid. Voice actor Mike Henry acknowledged the sacrilegious nature of the episode. »

Justin Bieber may have killed Brian and other 'Family Guy' Comic-Con highlights

26 July 2014 2:43 PM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

"Family Guy" hit Ballroom 20 on Saturday (July 26) for its annual Comic-Con panel, an event with kinda tends to ebb and flow in hype based on whether or not Seth MacFarlane is there to mock question-askers.  This was a second consecutive Seth MacFarlane-free year. Last year he was working on "A Million Ways To Die In The West." This year, his absence was unexplained [on the "Family Guy" panel, but it came up at "American Dad" subsequently] and raises the possibility that Seth MacFarlane has just become too big for making fun of questioners at Comic-Con. Fortunately, in lieu of Seth MacFarlane, the "Family Guy" team arrived with a longer clip reel for the season's hour-long "The Simpsons Guy" crossover event, which will air on September 28. At TCA press tour last week we got a very brief sizzle reel that included jokes about the Springfield location ("I can't imagine we're allowed to »

Fast National ratings for Sunday, July 20, 2014. After a few weeks of stability and growth, ABC's "Rising Star" dipped on Sunday, allowing "Big Brother" and CBS to claim primetime victories in all measures.  ABC still finished second overall, though "America's Funniest Home Videos" played a bigger role than "Rising Star" did.  Fox, meanwhile, was second among young viewers thanks to animation repeats. On to the numbers... Among adults 18-49, CBS averaged a 1.1 rating for Sunday night, edging out Fox's 1.0 rating in the key demographic. ABC's 0.9 key demo rating was a close third and NBC's 0.8 key demo rating wasn't far off either. Overall, CBS had much more breathing room, averaging 6.15 million viewers and a 3.9 rating/7 share for Sunday, far ahead of the 4.07 million viewers and 2.4/4 for ABC. NBC's 2.9 million viewers and 1.8/3 beat the 1.3/2 and 2.17 million viewers for Fxo. 7 p.m. - The night's biggest audience went to CBS' "60 Minutes," which averaged 7.72 million viewers to win the 7 p. »
