Fox 2014-15 Season Ratings (updated 1/29/15)

18 hours ago | TVSeriesFinale.com | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

A few years ago, Fox had some of the top-rated TV shows on the air. Now, the network is struggling. Which series will be cancelled and which will be renewed? Stay tuned.

How do the execs decide what to cancel or keep? They look at a lot of different factors but the ratings play a very large role. The higher the ratings, the better chances a show has of surviving.

Fox shows this season (so far): American Idol, Backstrom, Bob's Burgers, Bones, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Empire, Family Guy, Glee, Gotham, Gracepoint, Hell's Kitchen, MasterChef Junior, The Mindy Project, Mulaney, Red Band Society, New Girl, The Simpsons, Sleepy Hollow, and Utopia.

There Will Be a Bob’s Burgers Cookbook

28 January 2015 11:16 PM, PST | Vulture | See recent Vulture news »

If you love Bob's Burgers and the punny burgers-of-the-day names, then you probably love Cole Bowden's Tumblr, the Bob's Burger Experiment. Bowden takes the names you see on Bob's chalkboard, creates a recipe, and then crafts an outlandish, gourmet burger from scratch. NPR's the Salt reports that after two years of making the internet drool, Bowden's recipes for such inventive dishes as "I Know Why the Cajun Burger Sings," "The Foot Feta-ish Burger," and "A Good Manchego Is Hard to Find," among others, will see print.Rizzoli has signed on to publish Bowden's work, which found support from a unique fan: Bob's creator Loren Bouchard. Bouchard steered clear of the blog at first because he didn't want to disrupt Bowden's creative process. But at the behest of the blogger, Bouchard wound up collaborating with Bowden briefly — and thus a partnership was born. "The work he has done deserves to be »

Here Are the Best Answers From H. Jon Benjamin’s Reddit Ama

15 January 2015 11:20 PM, PST | Vulture | See recent Vulture news »

H. Jon Benjamin, the beautifully monotone voice behind Bob Belcher (Bob's Burgers) and Sterling Archer (Archer), entertained Redditors today with an Ama that was equal parts sarcastic and insightful. Fans of both shows lobbed questions in the form of marriage proposals and enticing would-you-rathers, while Benjamin fired back with a smashing assemblage of Sat words, factoids, and food-related trivia. For example, did you know Benjamin loves chicken parm sandwiches? Well, if you really want to make his day and be the best fan ever, hand-deliver one of those sandwiches to him, right after you punch him in the nether regions — his idea, not ours. Anyway, enjoy the wit of the voicing virtuoso below, and if you're feeling adventurous, throw this on in the background.Worst thing a fan has ever done to him? Once a fan followed me into the ymca. that's just not cool unless you're a member. And »

Bob's Burgers

Fox has officially renewed the Emmy-winning animated series "Bob's Burgers" for a sixth season of twenty-two episodes.

The series has averaged a 1.7 key demo rating and 3.5 million viewers overall for its eight episodes this season so far despite strong competition. [Source: Variety]

Supergirl

"Arrow" and "Flash" producer Greg Berlanti teased last year that we might see a crossover between CBS' "Supergirl" series and the The CW's mini-universe of "Arrow" and "The Flash," despite them airing on different networks.

Now, THR reports that they're heading that part of Berlanti's CBS contract for doing "Supergirl" is that the show can crossover with "The Flash" and "Arrow". Part of the reason this is do-able is that CBS and Time Warner own The CW network.

Happyland

MTV has cancelled its soapy teen comedy series "Happyland" after one season. The show explored the underbelly of one of the country's most popular theme parks and those who work there. »

'Bob's Burgers' renewed for Season 6 on Fox

8 January 2015 2:55 PM, PST | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

Winner of last year's Outstanding Animated Series Emmy, "Bob's Burgers" has been renewed for a sixth season on Fox. The network announced on Thursday (January 8) that it has picked up an additional 22 episodes of 'Bob's Burgers" for the 2015-16 season. "Bob's Burgers still has, by my unscientific count, 14 more episodes left to air this year in its fifth season. This is particularly good news for "Bob's Burgers" fans since the animated comedy is still relatively low-rated and lost a vocal champion in departed Entertainment President Kevin Reilly. This renewal is the show's first courtesy of new Fox Television Group Chairmen and CEOs Dana Walden and Gary Newman. "We can't help but love the Belcher family. This gem of a series is a rare feel-good blend of sharp wit and genuine heart that fans and critics alike have continued to love throughout its five seasons on Fox," blurb Walden and Newman. »

Bob's Burgers: Season Five Ratings

5 January 2015 12:29 PM, PST | TVSeriesFinale.com | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

Last year, Fox gave Bob's Burgers an early renewal because it takes longer to produce episodes of an animated show. The ratings fell more than 20% last year so will the show be as lucky this time around? Cancelled or renewed for a sixth season? Stay tuned.

Bob's Burgers, follows the Belcher family as they try to make their hamburger diner a success -- despite frequent catastrophes and crazy customers. The voice cast includes H. Jon Benjamin, Dan Mintz, Eugene Mirman, John Roberts, Kristen Schaal, and Larry Murphy.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show's likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available -- typically the following morning, around 11:30am Est/8:30am Pst. Refresh to see the latest. (more…) »

TV Ratings: NFL Wild Card dominates Sunday, 'Galavant' and 'Celebrity Apprentice' start well

5 January 2015 8:45 AM, PST | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

Fast National ratings for Sunday, January 4, 2015. The last 55 minutes of a tight and controversial Wild Card game between the Cowboys and Lions spilled into Sunday primetime and proved huge enough to push Fox to a dominant performance in all measures, also giving big boosts to "The Simpsons," "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," "Family Guy" and "Bob's Burgers." Numbers for Fox are, of course, tentative and subject to change. With new programming returning on Sunday after holiday breaks, there were a slew of notables, including a very strong return for NBC's "Celebrity Apprentice" and good NFL-free audiences for "Madam Secretary" and "The Good Wife." ABC's fairy tale musical-comedy "Galavant" got off to an encouraging start on its own, though it was unable to serve as any kind of lead-in for "Resurrection" and "Revenge." On to the numbers... Among adults 18-49, Fox averaged a 6.2 rating for Sunday night, tops in the key demographic. NBC was »

HitFix First Look: Sunday's 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' puts Captain Holt in a hot tub

2 January 2015 4:08 PM, PST | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

Happy New Year! And merry Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza and whatever other seasonal holidays you might celebrate. It's been a festive couple of weeks, but it's also been a really tough couple weeks if you happen to be a fan of original TV programming. Fortunately, the drought is coming to an end. Already, NBC welcomed back "A to Z" and "Bad Judge," not that you noticed. But everything begins returning in earnest this Sunday night, including Fox animated favorites "Bob's Burgers," "The Simpsons," and coming off an odd fall in which only six new episodes wire, "Family Guy." Also returning with its first new episode since December 14 -- Jake and Charles grew close and then not-so-close on a stakeout, in case you've forgotten -- is "Brooklyn Nine-Nine." In this week's episode, titled "Beach House," the detectives head out for a weekend at Charles' beach house -- Charles has a beach house? »

Happy 2015! That must mean that it's time to wrap up my Best of 2014 coverage, right? In case you've forgotten... My TV Top 10 for 2014: 10. "Game of Thrones" 9. "Shameless" 8. "Hannibal" 7. "The Americans" 6. "Rectify" 5. "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver" 4. "Mad Men" 3. "Orange Is The New Black" 2. "Review" 1. "Fargo" And My Second 10 for 2014: 11. "Transparent" 12. "True Detective" 13. "Bob's Burgers" 14. "Boardwalk Empire" 15. "Veep" 16. "Louie" 17. "The Knick" 18. "The Honourable Woman" 19. "Silicon Valley" 20. "Girls" So now, let's get down to business with my previously promised Third 10 of 2014. But first, a couple preambles... First, you'll notice here that if you go to my HitFix Critics Poll ballot for New Series, you'll see that "Jane the Virgin" didn't make my New Series Top 10, but here it's moved ahead of a pair of shows that were on that ballot. I submitted my ballot on December 1 and the consistency of the winter's last three episodes moved it up for me. »
