This is the story of the first martyr of free speech. Socrates is on trial for his life. He will be put to death and he knows it. 2500 years later we remember his words. The Death of Socrates was filmed in 10 countries by 23 filmmakers in 7 languages. One character - Socrates, changes from one scene to another from man to woman, young to old, human to animal, but delivering a monologue, broken into 23 chapters.
