Using an incantation, Morgause revives the deadly Knights of Medhir and, whilst Merlin and Arthur are the sole survivors of the party sent to beat the knights, Morgause uses Morgana to bewitch Camelot so that everybody except Morgana herself falls asleep, rendering the court defenseless when the knights approach, intent on killing the king. Merlin learns from the Great Dragon that the only way to break the spell is to kill Morgana, so he uses her as his bargaining power to force Morgause to call off the attack. As a consequence he must honour his pledge to free the dragon. Written by don @ minifie-1

Did You Know?

When Arthur and Merlin returned to Camelot, coming back from Idirsholas, they were the only two survivors of a failed attempt to fight the mighty Knights of Medhir (thanks to Merlin secretly using his magical powers to insure the survival of Prince Arthur so he can become the great King Arthur). The seven knights who were seduced by the sorceress Medhir, 300 hundreds years ago, all of them being the best knights of Camelot and we're in the Middle Ages as King Arthur's reign is about late 5th century (401-500) early 6th centuries minus 300 years for seven knights to fall under a witch's spell, you're in Roman Empire time before the Middle Ages. So, everybody has fallen under the sleeping spell, except Morgana who, unbeknown-st to her, is the vessel of the spell. You see sleeping people everywhere in the streets and inside the castle but at one point, the camera is filming the large square in front of the castle and very far away in the middle of the square, you might notice some moving crew, probably still setting down the extras to look like sleeping people...they're very far, probably too far to hear the warning about "evacuate or lie down, we're shooting now" but at the first viewing you might wonder why some people were still standing up and moving, then they show them again a few seconds later. It's a family oriented show, not L&O: SVU, so the sleeping spell is not gruesome and just renders people weak and tired before they fall asleep like "I really need to lie down and take a nap or rest my head on my desk", not the sudden sleeping spell where you could fall from a ladder while cleaning up your gutters or not have enough time to get off the toilet or off your bath and drown!. [Merlin helps Arthur with his armor]
Arthur: Well, look on the bright side Merlin. Chances are you won't have to clean this again.
Merlin: You might be careful. Do not force the battle.
Arthur: Yes, Sire!
Merlin: I'm serious.
Arthur: I can tell.
Merlin: Let matters take their course.
Arthur: Merlin, if I die, please...
[Arthur pauses]
Arthur: The dragon lord today. I saw you. One thing I tell all my young knights. No mane is worth your tears.
