The narrator concludes Jehoash's story by stating that during his reign he always did what was right in the sight of the Lord, thanks to the guidance of the high priest Jehoiada. This storyline significantly different from the Bible story, clearly in order to make it suitable for young viewers: according to the Bible, Jehoash became a sinner after Jehoiada's death, and when the prophet Zechariah son of Jehoiada boldly condemned Jehoash for his misdeeds - ungrateful Jehoash executed Zechariah by stoning, although he was saved and crowned thanks to Zechariah's parents. As a punishment for the cruel murder, soon afterwards Jehoash was assassinated by two of his slaves.
