"Speak Lord,your servant is listening"
22 March 2016 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

It was Ruffles' birthday. Uri and Gizmo were sad as they still found no sign of her. They were once again transported into another time in Israel during the time of the prophet Samuel.

Hannah has constantly prayed to God for a child. Her prayers were finally answered when she gave birth to a son and decided to name him Samuel. It was decided that her son will live a life in the service of God.That is why he was sent under the guidance of the high priest Eli.

While Samuel was still a young boy,he heard someone call him during his sleep. He went to Eli and asked the high priest if he called him at the middle of the night. After doing it twice,Eli told the young Samuel that God was probably calling him and told him to respond in this manner,"Speak Lord, your servant is listening". Once again, the young Samuel heard the voice and decided to respond in the manner Eli taught him. Thus begin a great relationship between God and Samuel that would last for many years to come.

After Samuel began the great relationship with the Lord,he grew up to be an upright man.His sons were killed during the Israelites battle with the Philistines. Also,he replaced Eli to become the leader of the Israelites.

This was a great episode about having a relationship with the Lord and living a life according to God's commandments. These were exhibited by Samuel, who will later become an important prophet of Israel.Aside from that,we also learn about the value of persistent prayer as shown by Hannah, who never gave up faith in the Lord and was later rewarded by having a son. Finally,we also are inspired of being of service with the Lord as shown by Samuel.
