In honor of "Community"- a review of every episode. (S1;E11- "The Politics of Human Sexuality")
(This is the eleventh part in an ongoing series, in which I am writing brief reviews of each and every episode of Dan Harmon's beloved cult- comedy "Community." Originally conceived as a response to NBC's cancellation of the series before it was revived for its final season on Yahoo.)

Now this is just a good, fun episode all around, and is probably one of the zanier entries in the wonderful first season of "Community."

While Annie (Alison Brie) helps Dean Pelton (Jim Rash) throw an STD awareness fair at Greendale, Jeff (Joel McHale) double-dates with Pierce (Chevy Chase). All the while, Troy (Donald Glover) challenges Abed (Danny Pudi) to a series of physical challenges.

It's always welcome when a character besides Jeff is able to take center stage, and here Annie is really given some time to shine. Not only through some great comedy beats thanks to Hillary Winston's quirky writing, but also a fun few scenes that allow her to use this humor to show and grow as a character a bit. (It's funny how an anatomically correct male mannequin is able to lead to serious character growth. Only on "Community"...)

There's also a really good guest-role played by Sharon Lawrence who has a minor sub-plot that does help lead to some nice development for Jeff. And the Troy/Abed sub-plot, while a bit silly and unnecessary (it feels like filler designed to give them something to do), is good fun.

It may not be among the best of the series... or frankly even the season. But regardless, this is one of the more silly and entertaining episodes from the show's humble beginnings, and I think most fans would love it.

I give it a very strong 9 out of 10.

It's honestly hilarious how the writers try (and fail) to make Annie look like an innocent, wide-eyed teenager. I'm actually not sure if it's supposed to be a meta joke.

This is at least the third episode in a row to feature a pairing involving growth. The other two were lackluster, but the Pierce-Jeff dynamic works here because it's funnier.

Penis.

Warning: Spoilers
The last couple of minutes of this episode are just amazing. One of my personal best episode endings in Community. When Pierce says, "I mean, a man reaches a point in his life where he stops looking for a place to hang his underwear, and stars looking for place to hang his hat," Jeff was surprised by him not being sarcastic or racist. Jeff asks him what happened to his date. Pierce said that he'd have to pay if he wanted her for the night. Then they cheered to "being better men." Pierce then puts his cup on the table, turns to Jeff and says, "So can I borrow 200 bucks?" XD!! Oh My God!! That was so original of Pierce. At the end, when Pierce goes to his date (and Whistle For The Choir is playing), Jeff takes out his phone, changes Britta's saved name from "Hot Blond Spanish Class" to "Britta." It just gave me the goose bumps. Awesome ending... :')
