Regardless, the president, fearing of becoming obsolete, orders the assassination of Jin. Courtesan Nokaze hears of the growing rumor of the assassination and sends a message to Saki for her help. Saki rescues Jin. Trembling, Jin finally feels alive and not in a dream state. Ryoma, hearing of the attempt, confronts the president, who does not deny it. Ogata and his staff find the penicillin factory destroyed. Ogata begins to cough up blood. Jin realizes that the photo hasn't changed since he produced penicillin. However, as he tucks it away, he discovers a coin made in 2010.
