Storyline

An out of the ordinary encounter with strange alien ooze mutates four ordinary pet turtles Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello into talking, walking, fighting green machines! Together, these brothers train with the legendary sensei rat, Splinter, to master the martial art of Ninjitsu. In this truly turtle powered tale, the turtles from one dimension meet the turtles from another dimension when a teleporting mishap occurs. What the shell is going on? Together, the turtles must locate the Technodrome to fix this mess! Meanwhile, Shredder tracks down his counterpart, Ch'rell, who devises a master plan to travel back to the Prime Universe to get rid of the turtles once and for all! As worlds collide, the turtles come face to face with classic characters like Casey and April, and a slew of enemies including Krang, Hun, the Foot Soldiers, the Purple Dragons, Bebop and Rocksteady!

Trivia

In the original animated series from the 1980s, the Turtles often broke the fourth wall, and talked directly to the audience. This wasn't the case however with the 2003 series. This is made reference to in this movie, as the 1980s Turtles break the fourth wall several times. Until finally, Hun gets fed up and begins to violently shake the 1980s Raphael, while asking, "Why do you keep doing that?! Who are you talking to?! There's no one there!" See more »

Hateful and disrespectful
5 May 2013 | by (Netherlands) – See all my reviews

This crossover is one of the worst I've ever seen. The movie is hateful and disrespectful to the original 1987 Turtles. They are portrayed as complete blithering buffoons. The entire movie from beginning to end is just, "2003 Turtles are awesome! 1987 Turtles suck! How could you like those morons!?" Different characterization is gone, the 1987 turtles are reduced to Mikey clones whose every last bit of intelligence is stripped from him.

Before everyone says, "But the 1987 turtles were like that!" let me tell you: no, they were not. Although the 1987 turtles show degenerated over time, it was much better in the beginning. This crossover movie takes the worst they could find and then dialed it up to 11, while bringing in nothing of the good stuff that made people fans of the original show; while at the same time, doing the opposite with 2003 Turtles show.

It's hateful, and absolutely disgusting to sit through.
