The Opportunity: In the fall of 1998, David Seth Cohen was fresh out of college trying to pursue his dream of working in the film industry. Despite his best efforts all summer, the best he could do was a lighting assistant gig for a wedding photographer. With pressure mounting from his parents to get a regular job, David finally got a break. A family friend helped him get hired as a wardrobe production assistant (even though he is color blind) for a feature film in New York City. It was originally titled Guy Gets Kid...but we all came to know it as, Big Daddy. Not only was David thrilled to be working on a real studio movie, but it also happened to be starring one of his idols...Adam Sandler! Throughout production there were very few moments for David to have any real interaction with Adam, until one day, fate gave him the opportunity he'd been hoping for. David was tasked to drop off Adam's wardrobe for the premiere of The Waterboy to the front desk of his apartment building, give his fellow production assistant a ride home, and drop off the studio car and call it a night. What he thought was another typical gopher task soon became a life-changing moment: The Surprise? David was sent by the man at the front desk to deliver the clothes up to Adam in his apartment and it was Adam himself who answered the door. The Shock? Adam invited David to come in, hang out and have a drink with him. The Problem? His fellow production assistant was waiting in the car for her ride home. The Decision? Do the right thing, pass on the drink and take her home. There would be other chances, right? Wrong. The Regret: Almost 10 years later, David is 30 years old and living in his grandmother's basement. His film-making dreams have been set aside while he toils away as a producer for a local catholic television station. This is a little "unorthodox" for him, being a nice Jewish boy. Feeling lost, restless and unhappy, can't help but wonder what could have happened had he just stayed for the drink. The Dream: One night, during a vivid dream, David found himself traveling to California to try and find Adam. Although no one he ran into would help him, somehow, he managed to run into Adam. They began to walk and talk before David awoke with a jolt. Driven by his dream, David realized he would always be wondering what if unless he finally did something about it. The Quest: With a video camera, some money from his family and a few friends acting as crew, David will risk everything to recapture and rebuild the lost opportunity he has regretted for so long. An opportunity where he could have hung out and shared a drink with his idol, discussed his dreams and ambitions, and who knows? Will David be able to find Sandler and ask him for that drink? And if so, what will Adam say? While the final outcome is a mystery, it's during this inspirational adventure that David realizes on his mission to Finding Sandler - he finds himself.
