Chuck Jones would be proud!

This is an homage to the venerable teenage drive-in monster movie. It feels like it too. Sitting in the theatre I got that old sensation of watching a creature double feature, except the acting is just amazing. You'd never know you were watching an indy film. And the script is hilarious. Guy Benoit and Richard Griffin have, for once, made a film you could bring the kids to. Goofy, campy and totally on-the-mark comedy rooted in 1957. Laughed my butt off. I love it when a movie has those quick subtle jokes that you might miss the first time. This one has those things sprinkled throughout. This is completely enjoyable camp, but it's smart too! The satire lies just beneath the surface like a Warner Bros cartoon. The kids laugh at one thing, the adults at something else. If you get a chance to see this, do it! It's very well done, smart, hilarious and as I said, the acting and comic delivery is top-shelf! I could go on naming names, because everyone does such a great job, but I'll just hit the highlights: David Lavallee: Wow. Nerdy, bookish and the love interest. Great job. Just great! Sarah Reed: Oh My God! Her Betty is perfect. Perfect! Michael Reed: The school bully you love to hate, but loves origami. Dead on target Michael. Couldn't have nailed it better! Rick Tretheway... I.. I'm speechless. You were amazing. Cat Hanfield as Frannie: I had aunts when I was little who were that character. You just nailed it! Aurora Grabill: Wow. Just Wow. My heart went out to her when she got slimed. Perfect combination of tough kid and sympathetic alien victim. And Brandon Lois Aponte as Elvis Presley. You were incredible, man. Incredible! And where did Richard come up with these locations? The Block Island Lighthouse? Those cars? Fan-freakin-tastic! The film just looks beautiful! I could go on and on. Richard Griffin has found a cadre of talent that comes thru for him every time. He does great work and deserves to be rich and famous! More! More! Encore! (holding up my lit cell phone in the dark) Woooo!!
