As Swedish rural archipelago MD Magnus Danielsson is off to a French course, his fiancee Julia Helström, who runs a Stockholm boutique, is disappointed she can spend only the last week of her annual vacation back home with him and all with her favorite aunt Elsa Helström, whom she encourages to open a new venture besides the diner she runs with clumsy, wasp-allergical but Thespian-gifted hospitality apprentice Lasse. Actually Magnus's laid-back interim Henrik Lindberg, who practices interims via an agency in between his jungle medicine terms, proves must seductive and gradually wins over the initially held-back patients. Julia fights in vain against falling for confident hedonist Henrik, yet still feels committed to Magnus, who returns early with his own french surprise.
