Trivia

Hoping it would snow during the last exterior scene of the movie, the cast and crew filmed on schedule but it did not snow that morning. At lunch the snow began to fall and the cast and crew ran outside and re-shot the earlier scene, capturing the snow on film after all. See more »

Quotes

Stone: All my life I've been taught that there are three things a man should live by; family, loyalty, and truth. So I've always wondered why my twin brother Stanley is the way he is and... why I'm normal. Why I turned out to be okay and... Stanley turned out to be a killer.

Great film!
24 June 2013 | by (New York) – See all my reviews

The plot of this film touches home for me on many levels, with family members abusing drugs and bringing other members down with them. We all have one bad egg in the family that makes everyone else suffer because they have chosen to mess up their own life. If you are from a small town, you will relate to this film even more than most, as Stone leaves his hometown for the bigger, better city of Hollywood. Ambitious with his dream to become famous, his ego is slowly shattered when realizes how hard it really is to "make it". After living in Los Angeles for years, Stone returns home to rekindle an old flame, only to discover more than he had anticipated. I love how his hometown thinks he is rich and famous, only from acting in one movie. HA!...Typical small town mentality.

Most of the characters in the movie demonstrate the dark sides of their lives and struggles with loved ones without sugar-coating it, pretending to be some Brady Bunch family. Everyone can find a certain similarity with one of the main characters; and you will definitely find a character that relates to one of your family members as well.

So many words were said through these actors without saying a word, showing the way we hide our feelings and emotions in uncomfortable situations. The acting is superb. The uncomfortable moments of silence between the characters, speaks volumes. Some might find that the film is slower then usual because of these moments, but I found it to be very real in the way people interact. The pace definitely picks up toward the end with lots of action and a GREAT twist.

I really enjoyed this movie because it is about bad blood within a family and finding yourself… something I am sure we have all struggled with at some point in life.
