Plot Summary

  • Armed with only empathy and her belief in the redemptive power of Art, Helen Briggs teaches a mask-making workshop at the state penitentiary. When confronted with disinterested prison guards, rowdy inmates, and her unsteady nerves, Helen realizes this is no ordinary art class. One woman in a room full of prisoners: anything can happen.
