Getting fireworks on Christmas Eve - or at almost any time - in Southern California would not only be incredibly difficult to do, it would be illegal. Without a license, it's unlikely he would be able to purchase the types of fireworks displayed at the end. And even "safe and sane" fireworks that can be purchased by the general public, can only be sold a few days before and after July 4th. See more »

The One Where Christmas Gets Cancelled...
25 August 2015 | by (Australia) – See all my reviews

This is one of my all-time favorite episodes of Modern Family. And not only from this season, but from the entire series. It's so hilarious, and I love the element of Christmas getting cancelled. It's so funny. I also love holiday-themed episodes, so of course, Christmas episodes are very enjoyable for me.

In this episode, Phil and Claire decide to cancel Christmas for their family after they discover what looks like a cigarette burn on the couch. Haley and Alex convince Luke to take the fall, so they can get Christmas back, but it doesn't really work. Not until everyone realizes that the burn actually came from the sun going through a Christmas ornament, on their tree. Meanwhile, Jay is hesitant to celebrate Gloria and Manny's holiday traditions, as he thinks they're a bit too out there. And Mitch and Cam take Lily to meet Santa for the first time.

Best part of the episode: Everything.

Overall, I give this episode a 10 out of 10, which in my ratings book is: Freaking Ridonkulous.
