Alpha is back, and he is angry! He is systematically tracking down and brutally killing all of Echo's past Dollhouse clients who hired her for a "romantic engagement"; after all, she is his "Number One" and no one else can have her love, even if it is programmed. The last man standing is that Internet billionaire guy we last saw in "Man On The Street" (the one who had Echo playing his dead wife - but he's really a harmless guy!), so Boyd and Paul decide to bring him inside the Dollhouse to protect him from Alpha. But is the Dollhouse as safe a place as it appears to be? Alan Tudyk really sinks his teeth into the role of the genius, psychotic, unpredictable Alpha - you never know what he's going to do next. There is a massive fight inside the Dollhouse between the security staff and the virus-infected Dolls which ranks as one of the best - and craziest - action sequences of the show so far. And, after so much stunt doubling in Eliza Dushku's fight scenes, it is refreshing to actually SEE some girls genuinely kicking a$$ in that sequence - the one in the purple, in particular, looks outstanding. *** out of 4.
