Storyline

Only Daisy and Mitchell survive the blast. Nina visits George to say she believes Kemp and Lucy can cure them. He is unconvinced; however, after a panic in which he began to transform whilst visiting Molly's school's opening evening (only just getting home in time to be caged), he agrees to visit Kemp's lab, accompanied by Annie. Mitchell reverts to blood lust, killing Quinn, and taking a terrible revenge on some innocent bystanders before learning that Lucy betrayed him. Written by don @ minifie-1

George describes Kemp as a defrocked Catholic priest. Catholic priests are not allowed to get married, but in a flashback to his time as a priest (seen in In the Morning, ep. 2.6), Kemp is shown with a wife and daughter. See more »

Quotes

Daisy: All over the world you've got these pockets of vampires, some in hiding, some with arrangements like you had here, but things have started to shift. You noticed how there's been a lot of accidents lately? Gas explosions. Buildings collapsing. They're fighting back.
Mitchell: "They?"
Daisy: Humans.
Mitchell: [laughs] That's what Herrick was always talkin' about. Survival of the fittest. Look, it comes down to this, right? There's always going to be someone with a bigger stick.
Daisy: So what do we do?
Mitchell: Oh, we have to wait.
Daisy: [...]

Fangstastic stuff
24 February 2010 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

Personally, I love the darker stuff and this episode doesn't disappoint! From Mitchell and Daisy's rampage through the train (look out for the iPod on the disembowelled passenger) to George's untimely change (fans of "Mitchell & Webb" will recognise the "Sir Digby-Chicken-Caesar" sequence!) it's great stuff. Aidan Turner gets to spend more time in bed with Amy Manson (sort of a repeat of "Desperate Romantics" - but with blood).

And it's full of delightful details for the careful watcher... The aforementioned iPod. Mitchell using a magazine "perfume patch" to make his armpits less offensive. Lucy has a personalised Garfield mug. (as to why the set dressers bother with this level of detail, I don't know

  • I just love it that they do, it reminds me of The X-Files!)

All in all - fangtastic!
