In End of Watch, Gyllenhaal and Pena play young, enthusiastic cops Brian Taylor and Mike Zavala, respectively, who form a brotherhood to ensure they both go home at the end of their watch. But that gets more difficult after they perform a routine traffic stop and confiscate some money and firearms. Turns out, the items belonged to a notorious drug cartel, and they put a price on the cops’ heads.
If you are heading into The Comedy expecting a follow-up to Tim and Eric'$ Billion Dollar Movie, you are in for quite a shock. While the film does offer a few early laughs from star Tim Heidecker, the story quickly descends into pitch black territory, and what we're left holding creeps deep into the horror genre. It's a disturbing psychological drama about a man whose life has no real meaning, as he sits and very impatiently awaits his father's death so that he can live out the rest of his life with little to no responsibilities.
The Comedy is also a time capsule of our current trendier than thou hipster culture, and it dissects that well-worn disenfranchised soul with an X-acto knife. It's an important look at the disintegration of the human spirit, while also being about hope and forgiveness. »

The comedy movie depicts a North Carolina district election. Ferrell plays the incumbant, long-term congressman Cam Brady. Galifianakis is Marty Huggins, director of the local Tourism Center. Looking to gain control over their district, two CEOs thrust Huggins into the political arena as their candidate to oust Brady. Let the mud slinging and back stabbing begin…
Paul Thomas Anderson's latest film The Master has already been earning glowing reviews from early screenings, and as it prepares for its world premiere the 69th Venice International Film Festival this coming Saturday, The Weinstein Company has released a final theatrical trailer via the IMDb, which is embedded below for your viewing pleasure.
The Master sees Anderson regular Philip Seymour Hoffman (Magnolia, Capote) leading the cast as Lancaster Dodd, a charismatic individual who launches his own faith-based organisation in the aftermath of World War II and attracts a young drifter Freddie Sutton (Joaquin Phoenix; Signs, Walk the Line) to be his right hand man. However, as the organisation starts to grow, Freddie comes to question both the belief system and his mentor.
Almost two years ago, Kirby Ferguson joined me on Reject Radio to discuss his concept that everything was a remix. This was just after creating his first video which used side-by-side comparisons of songs to show that even our heroes (namely Led Zeppelin) lifted work from other artists and from traditionals in order to craft songs we now think of as iconic. There was no doubt that this same principle could be applied to movies, and it was unsurprising when Ferguson followed up with a film-centric entry. So, Everything is a Remix. “Transforming the old into the new is Hollywood’s greatest talent.” Ferguson, through impressive and entertaining editing, has called to the forefront the truth of creativity involving a great amount of borrowing, homage and sometimes flat-out theft. Now, he’s been invited to give a Ted talk, and as you can see, his main focus isn’t movies, but »

Plot: Long-time Congressman Cam Brady (Ferrell) thinks he’s going to easily get re-elected, but along comes newcomer Marty Huggins (Galifianakis) who gives him a run for his money.
Who’S It For? This R-rated comedy is for those who like watching aggressive, exaggerated characters do a lot of mean, stupid things.
I’ll be honest, I like my comedy best when I have someone to root for. Tommy (Chris Farley) or Navin (Steve Martin) give you hope and laughs. I’ve loved Ferrell in Old School and Elf, but the only time I have loved his aggressive comedy is Anchorman. What helps that role is the distant world (the ’70s) that surrounds him, plus he’s not the biggest fool in the film. »

It would not be surprising if this summer every club in Europe had been faxed by Malaga Cf with the memo ‘Everything Must Go’. Well if newspaper are rumours are to be believed it certainly seems to be the case, as Newcastle, according to the Daily Mirror, have added their name to the list of clubs interested in signing French international midfielder Jeremy Toulalan this summer. The football equivalent to a high street sale, the Spanish side are desperate to flock their stock, not least because of the crippling financial debts the club finds itself in following the lavish spending of the Dubai based owners who took control of the club in 2010.
One of those players is Toulalan, with the Magpies keen on snapping up a player who has won 36 caps for Les Bleus, and with the midfielder being available at a cut down price; Alan Pardew may eye Toulalan »

Will Ferrell has branded Kristen Stewart a 'trampire' for cheating on Robert Pattinson. The 'Everything Must Go' star appeared on TV talk show 'Conan' and 'broke down' over the actress' split from Robert Pattinson - who she first met on the set of vampire franchise 'The Twilight Saga'. When host Conan O'Brien asked a forlorn Will what was wrong with him the comedy actor jokingly opened his heart over his feelings about Kristen's affair with her 'Snow White and the Huntsman' director Rupert Sanders. In what appeared to be a spoof of super-fan Nutty Madam's tearful video post about Kristen's cheating, he said: 'I don't know if you follow the news at all, but there's this »
Will Ferrell has been known to take on risky projects and ideas that he holds near to his heart. He’s mostly known for his roles in comedies like Anchorman and Step Brothers, but occasionally he’ll step out of his comfort zone and do something like Everything Must Go or Stranger Than Fiction, which are much more serious endeavors. Casa de mi Padre leans slightly more towards his experimental side, even though it is very much a comedy and not so much a drama. It’s a weird, slow-burn Spanish western that might just become a cult classic in the coming years.
Armando (Will Ferrell) is a Mexican rancher that lives with his father. Occasionally his brother Raul (Diego Luna) comes to visit, which brings a great deal of shame onto Armando, because he is without a woman and seen as a great disappointment to his father. What Armando »

*Disclaimer: the following is based on and an expansion of an article written by Peter Howell, the Toronto Star Movie Critic.
It’s a truth universally acknowledged that a film of the lowest common denominator adds nothing to the institution of cinema. But as profiteers like Adam Sandler have already understood, when money speaks, truth is silenced, and nothing has been more vociferously profitable for him than his lowest common denominator filmmaking.
Under his very own moviemaking company, Happy Madison Productions, Sandler has been churning out the most banal drivel since its inception in 1999 (which was widely regarded by some to be a precursor to Y2K). His movies have subjected the world to his penchant for unadulterated nonsense and, in the vain of Sandleresque humour, a whole lot of poppycock.
But to the chagrin of film critics and to anyone with the slightest bit of sense or sensibility, his company not only exists, »

2011 wasn't kind to Craig Gillespie. His remake of "Fright Night" was unfairly ignored (c'mon, it featured an awesomely smarmy Colin Farrell and was a bit of goofy fun with some decent thrills) and then in the fall, he dropped out of the forever developing "Pride And Prejudice And Zombies" (and we wonder about that movie ever getting made considering audiences didn't seem to care about "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter"). But, it's summer 2012 and Gillespie now has something brighter on the horizon.
Variety reports that he will take the helm of "The Flamingo Thief," a comedy that has Will Ferrell attached to star. And no, it's not quite that new. The project was first announced back in February, and is based on the book by Susan Trott about a man who starts stealing pink flamingos after his wife leaves him. Michael LeSieur ("You Me & Dupree," "The Maiden Heist") penned the screenplay »

A lot has happened since the days of Vanilla Ice and "Ice Ice Baby." Parachute pants went out of style, most people don't bleach single streaks in their hair, and Vanilla Ice doesn't get quite as many endorsement deals as he used to.
That's why Robert Van Winkle, as he's known now, is hosting a fire sale to get rid of all the extra merchandise that he's amassed over the years. Everything must go, and he stars in this brand new video commercial to tell you all about it.

The sale happens to be taking place right around the same time that Vanilla Ice is starring in the new Adam Sandler-Andy Samberg film, "That's My Boy." In the film, he plays himself and a friend of Sandler's character, Donny.

Iron Man 3 Just days after Jessica Chastain dropped out of playing the female lead in Iron Man 3, The Town star Rebecca Hall is now in negotiations for the role. Chastain dropped out citing a busy work schedule but optimistically hoped for another shot at a Marvel movie somewhere down the road. Meanwhile, Hall has starred in a number of indie hits ranging from Woody Allen's Vicky Christina Barcelona to Christopher Nolan's The Prestige. She recently starred in The Town and the critically acclaimed Will Ferrell drama Everything Must Go and will return to theaters later this year in the horror flick The Awakening. The female lead role is described as a sexy scientist who is every bit as smart as Tony Stark. The scientist will play a pivotal role in the creation of a...

They had someone else lined up already! Just yesterday it was revealed by actress Jessica Chastain herself that she had passed on the Iron Man 3 role, which there had been rumors for a little while. Now it looks like they've found her "replacement", or rather the next person they'd love to cast, and it's: Rebecca Hall, the beautiful actress who always impresses me in everything from The Prestige to Vicky Cristina Barcelona to Dorian Gray to The Town to Everything Must Go. Variety broke the news, stating she'll be "a scientist who plays a pivotal role in the creation of a nanotechnology," which becomes a weapon sold to terrorists. This comes a bit out of left field, as she wasn't one of the five other names mentioned, but it's a fine choice. I really love Hall and have been following her career as much as I can, she's great »

Following Jessica Chastain's announcement yesterday that she won't be joining the cast of Iron Man 3 comes word, via Variety , that Rebecca Hall ( The Town , Everything Must Go ) may take the part instead. The role is said to be that of a scientist that is the intellectual equal of Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark. Although it's not confirmed, it's possible that the part is Dr. Maya Hansen, a character responsible for the "Extremis" nanotechnology that is said to be a key part of the sequel's focus. Written and directed by Shane Black (and co-written by Drew Pearce), Iron Man 3 stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Ben Kingsley and Guy Pearce and is set for release on May 3, 2013.
