Dilemma of When Life Ends Superbly Accomplished ***1/2
edwagreen17 November 2009
Mandy Patinkin gives a superb performance as a victim of ALS, who deteriorates terribly after an auto accident and subsequent surgery shall confine him to bed.

His Victor gives the gut wrenching decision to end his life and give others the parts of his body so that they can survive.

This gripping story is so good and touches on the problem of what happens when younger children are separated and placed in different foster homes when their caregiver is hospitalized.

People have no shame knocking at Victor's door at the hospital once word gets out of his decision. People want to live. It's as simple as that. His daughter almost throws a wrench into the entire process, when as the overseer of his living will, she decides not to pursue his wishes, but has a change of heart by the surgeon who also had been against what Victor was attempting to do.

The debate will always go on when and if life should be terminated.

Warning: Spoilers
This is all my opinion. This is a good episode. Well written and rounded. The only I have is Mandy. Every time I see him in anything it seems he has to be the center of attention. Also, 2 things. 1. How can someone with als drive? 2. While he was driving he basically talking normally. Once in the hospital he is talking oddly.
