Spunky Élodie Navarre from "Danse avec lui", "L'école du pouvoir", and others stars this new TV series which revolves basically about her, her philosophical/ vocational dilemmas, which she solves as deftly as her sentimental life. Always smiling, caring to her elders, compassionate to the reluctant village people of her hometown, caring to the children, quickly repents when she gets angry, really, somebody to have around for every occasion :)! Somewhat rosy, centered on religion, ecumenism and of course love, this series is fun to watch thanks to a good script and stellar cast, from François Marthouret as a sensitive piano player, Thomas Jouannet as the obvious heart breaker, and husky voiced Mathias Mlekuz as a fellow priest, but catholic, who has his healthy dose of doubts.
Desmond Campbell is her "perfect" fiancé, with a not so perfect mother Eleanor Campbell, an ugly, insensitive and dominating person, commercializing religious beliefs and, worse of all, "rich Americans" :). Local evil beauty "Fleur Bonneteau" is another nice to watch antagonist. Pity both Eleanor and Fleur's destinies in this story are not solved very convincingly, maybe for so many things happen in 4 hours that it finally narration seems somewhat hurried, specially in the 2nd part.
Nevermind quibbles, this above average series can endure being watched again, no small treat considering the genre.
Enjoyable!
PS: My favourite characters are Melchior, sexy Docteur Lenoir (a fellow copper with a secret) and Abel (listen to him!).
