Mitchell and George encounter husband and wife vampires Ivan and Daisy, who warn them of the likely power struggle after Herrick's death and their own vulnerability. Annie gets work in a pub and takes home customer Nathan, and Mitchell befriends new doctor Lucy. At the full moon, whilst the sinister Kemp destroys a captive werewolf in a pressure chamber, Nina is horrified to find that, accidentally scratched by George, she too transforms into a werewolf. George is pursued by the flirtatious Daisy who wants him to enjoy the dark side and has sex with him. Smelling Daisy's perfume on him increases Nina's anguish but they make up and the other housemates pledge to support Nina. Whilst they are all out, Kemp comes to the house with a psychic, testing for supernatural presences, and sensing triumph. Written by don @ minifie-1

Great opening to the second series
11 January 2010 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

I was pleased when I saw that this excellent series was returning for a second series. As the first series ended it appeared that things were getting better for Annie, Mitchell and George however as this series begins it appears new dangers are on their way. Set almost a month after the last series ended George's girlfriend Nina is worried that she may become a werewolf after he accidentally scratched her; this has led to her avoiding contact with him. As she hasn't been able to tell him of her fears he believes her distancing herself from him is due to her being repulsed by what he is. To make matters worse a new pair of vampires has arrived in Bristol and they are taking an interest in George, Ivan wants to fight him and his partner wants to sleep with him. There are also dangers of an altogether human variety in the form of a scientist who is seen experimenting on supernatural beings, what he does to one poor werewolf is rather gory to say the least. The episode isn't all doom and gloom though as some comic relief is provided when Annie goes for a job at a local pub and is a little too enthusiastic.

It is hard to judge a series by its opening episode but this introduced several new characters nicely and I'm looking forward to seeing how the story progresses.
