I liked this for the most part.

Live from Knoxville, TN

Your commentators are Jim Ross & Tony Schiavone

The Fabulous Freebirds (Michael Hayes, Jimmy Garvin & Badstreet) Vs The Young Pistols & The Z-Man

The Young Pistols & Z-Man win after pinning all three Freebirds simultaneously with a trio of sunset flips. This was a fun opener. It was action-packed right from the outset. It was tragically short, but I loved every minute of it while it was on.

*** out of 5

Oz Vs Johnny Rich

Oz is Kevin Nash. Oz absolutely destroys Rich in stiff fashion. I can see why WCW was enamored with Nash, but the gimmick sucked.

We get an awful look at P.N News. His gimmick was that of an awful rapper.

'Dangerous' Danny Spivey Vs Big Josh

Big Josh is Doink the Clown. Spivey wins after interference from Kevin Sullivan. This was a pretty mediocre match. I didn't even realize Spivey was in the WCW at this point.

*1/2 out of 5

The star of Wonder Years, Jason Hervey is interrogated by Paul E. Dangerously. Hervey makes fun of Dangerously for getting beat up by Missy Hyatt. Dangerously asks if Hervey got a new car and a new house. Hervey says yes. Dangerously asks if everything is new, why is Miss Hyatt used merchandise. OUCH! Jason Hervey says he didn't come here to be insulted by Paul E and says the interview is over. Paul E. nails Hervey in the back of the head with his telephone. Missy Hyatt comes running out to comfort Hervey.

Dustin Rhodes Vs Terrance Taylor

Rhodes wins by DQ after Mr. Hughes gets involved. Ricky Morton randomly turns heel and joins the York Foundation. they all attack Rhodes until Big Josh comes out with his axe handle and clears the ring. Aside from Morton's random heel turn that made no sense, the match wasn't bad.

**1/4 out of 5

Sting Vs Nikita Koloff

Sting wins with the roll-up of doom. I actually enjoyed this match. They both worked really hard and created some exciting moments. The only thing that annoyed me was Koloff's poor selling. It got annoying after a while.

**1/2 out of 5

P.N News does one of the worst raps I've ever heard in my life. Johnny B. Badd interrupts and a heatless confrontation ensues where nothing but a small shove happens.

Arn Anderson & Barry Windham Vs El Gigante & Brian Pillman

The person that gets pinned must leave WCW. Pillman gets pinned after Windham kicks Pillman in the face. El Gigante barely even wrestled, aside from choking people out. That's most likely for the best. Pillman would come out in a masked gimmick called "The Yellow Dog" Too short of a match to really give my full thoughts.

*1/2 out of 5

IWGP Tag Team Titles

The Steiner Brothers (C) Vs Masahiro Chono & Hiroshi Hase

The Steiner's win. Dick Murdoch & Dick Slater come out and give a vicious assault to The Steiner's after the match. This match was a blast to watch! Normally, I'm not a fan of Chono, but he worked well here. Nobody was better than The Steiner's at this juncture.

***1/2 out of 5

The Diamond Studd (W/Diamond Dallas Paige) Vs Tommy Rich

The Studd wins with the Diamond Death Drop (Razor's Edge) This was just a squash match and nothing more. Rich was far removed from championship glory.

3/4* out of 5

A young Sting fan gets to meet his idol, Sting. It was a pretty cool moment. Nikita Koloff attacks Sting from behind and beats him up. He almost goes after the little Stinger until security steps in. Good angle here. I enjoyed it.

#1 Contender's Match

Lex Luger Vs The Great Muta

The winner gets a shot at the WCW Champion at the Great American Bash.

Luger wins with a powerslam. Meh, this was really short and The Great Muta looked pretty weak in defeat. Wrestling promoters have always had an infatuation with Lex Luger. Why, I don't know.

*3/4 out of 5

'Stunning' Steve Austin Vs 'Jumpin' Joey Maggs

Austin wins in like 10 seconds with the stungun. Not much to say about this one. If they treated Austin this good in the mid 90's, maybe he wouldn't have been fired.

DUD

Ricky Morton is named the newest member of the York Foundation. Ricky Morton turns on Robert Gibson, delivering a piledriver to him. He was gonna do more damage until Dustin Rhodes ran out and made the save.

World Heavyweight Title (2 out of 3 Falls)

Ric Flair (C) Vs Bobby Eaton

Ric Flair retains by winning 2 falls to 1. This was a solid match, just lacking in true excitement. I don't think anybody bought Bobby Eaton as a real threat to winning the title. It had some solid psychology, I'll give it that. Don't get me wrong, it's a good main- event, but I just wish it was more exciting.

**3/4 out of 5

I enjoyed this show for the most part. It's solid from top to bottom, with only a couple of stinkers. There are some pointless squash matches, but that's OK. Flair would leave WCW shortly after this, leaving Luger to make a quickie heel turn that bombed badly.
