A brief biography of Gregory Peck, including his early childhood ambitions of becoming a shipbuilder, his time in college as an athlete and a pre-medical student, his early theater work, and the films that made him a star.
Gregory Peck had early ambitions to become either a boat builder or a physician, the latter for which he attended college. But an injury which limited his college athletics made him turn to the college theater as past-time from his studies. He worked at the New York World's Fair before embarking on a Broadway career. Despite several early set-backs, he was able to make a strong impression in the movies, with star billing in even his earliest screen roles in A-movies with A-list co-stars. These roles were diverse but featured him to his tall, good looking advantage. Beyond his burgeoning acting career, he devoted much time to his young family, as well as to charitable pursuits.
