Lesbian sex at the movies: Black Swan, Mulholland Drive, more - Nsfw
Blue Is the Warmest Colour, a three-hour French film about two women who fall in love, is leaping from the art house to the mainstream as it arrives in UK cinemas this weekend.

A Cannes Film Festival Palme d'Or winner back in May, Abdellatif Kechiche's drama immediately hit the headlines thanks to its graphic (and prolonged) depictions of lesbian sex and the subsequent rows that erupted between the director and star Léa Seydoux.

Step outside of the controversy, however, and what's left is a love story that's both tender and utterly heart-shattering. Blue also features a stunning breakthrough performance from Adèle Exarchopoulos and is well worth seeking out if you want a change from big budget Hollywood fare.

With Blue Is the Warmest Colour back in the headlines, Digital Spy takes a look at five other big screen offerings that caused a similar stir...

Apropos of nothing: Sequels you had no idea existed, from 'Ace Ventura 3' to 'Air Bud 8'

Bless you, direct-to-dvd industry, for churning out endlessly amusing extensions of movies that never should have been franchises in the first place. An EW staffer casually mentioned the third Ace Ventura movie earlier today, inspiring a group of us to reminisce about the most random sequels we could think of — sequels many of us were hearing about for the first time.

And so, in honor of both these little-discussed gems and the gift that is Friday afternoon, here’s a list of the genre’s most unassuming entries. Caution: It’s about to get all nostalgic up in here. (Like that’s a surprise.

New Release: Cougar Hunting DVD

Cougar Hunting, yet another sexy comedy about a bunch of guys in their 20s and their adventures with women of an older but sexually provocative persuasion, is coming to DVD from Screen Media on Aug. 2 for a list price of $24.98.

The three young men—played by Matt Prokop, Jareb Dauplaise and Randy Wayne—head out to Aspen to jump on the cougar cruising train, encountering such lovely ladies who apparently fit the description as Vanessa Angel (Spies Like Us) and Lara Flynn Boyle (TV’s The Practice), as well as the notably younger Jillian Murray (Wild Things: Foursome).

When we reviewed the movie Cougars, Inc. last month, we opined that “Cougars” were fast becoming a stale topic, having been a hot subject for quickie comedies and DVD Premieres a couple of years back. (For examples, check out Cougar Club, Cougars 101 and Cougar School.) We were going to amend our theory

Exclusive: Jillian Murray Talks Wild Things: Foursome

The actress talks about her role in Wild Things: Foursome, Cougar Hunters a Mass Effect movie and more

Jillian Murray is certainly an actress on the rise and one to look out for in the near future. After roles in such films as An American Carol, Knuckle Draggers, Forget Me Not and one of this year's eight AfterDark Horrorfest films The Graves, not to mention providing the face and body for the character Dr. Liara T'Soni in the popular video game Mass Effect, the actress seems poised for a big career jump in the near future. Her latest film is Wild Things: Foursome, which was just released on DVD and Blu-ray on June 1. I recently had the chance to talk with this young actress over the phone, and here's what she had to say.

I was curious if you were a fan of this series before you signed on and

Spin-ematical: New on DVD and Blu-ray for 6/1
Alice in Wonderland

It's a new Tim Burton movie! It's based on a classic fairy tale about a "bizarre dream world"! Johnny Depp is The Mad Hatter! It's in 3D (albeit the afterthought kind)! What could possibly go wrong? "There's so much going on, it's almost impossible for the human eye to keep up," wrote our own Jenni Miller in her review. "And as wondrous as the talking animals are, as fabulous as the costumes are, as huge as the Red Queen's head is, it's nothing but a house of cards." (Psst - that's not a good thing.) I suspect there's still a strong curiosity factor here, especially for the Blu-ray version, so may I suggest: Rent it.

This Week on DVD: Alice in Wonderland, The Wolfman, The Man with No Name Trilogy

If you're thinking that it didn't take long for either Alice in Wonderland or The Wolfman to hit DVD, you're absolutely right. In the case of Alice in Wonderland, Disney shaved 3 weeks off of the usual release window while it's currently still making money at the box office... no wonder theatre owners were upset about this. There aren't many other noteworthy releases out this week, with the exception of a whole wack of Clint Eastwood movies on Blu-ray, plus Bad Boys, Steven Spielberg's War of the Worlds, and Troma's Class of Nuke 'Em High. Will you be buying or renting anything this week? Alice in Wonderland [1] (+ Blu-ray [2]) The Wolfman [3] (+ Blu-ray [4]) The Stranger [5] (+ Blu-ray [6]) Undisputed III: Redemption [7] (+ Blu-ray [8]) Wild Things: Foursome [9] (+ Blu-ray [10]) Small Town Saturday Night [11] Cornered! [12] Planet Earth: Life [13] (+ Blu-ray [14]) Rescue Me: The Complete Fifth Season [15] Burn Notice: Season Three [16] The Cleaner: The Final Season [17] Aqua Teen Hunger Force

[DVD Review] Wild Things: Foursome

Back in 1985 the film Clue, featuring a dynamo of a comedy cast with Tim Curry at its head, made a mockery of the murder mystery genre, and it did so expertly. 25 years later we’re still getting many films every year where the writer and director attempt to pull a fast one on the audience by throwing red herrings left and right. Some films have excellent hooks that you just never see coming, while others are as predictable as the Disney sequel that just reverses the plot points of the original.

Now, put Clue out of your mind and think back to the 1998 mystery thriller Wild Things, featuring Kevin Bacon, Neve Campbell, Denise Richards, Matt Dillon, and Bill Murray. Was it a masterpiece? No, but it had a nice little mystery wrapped up in a soft-core porn package. It was trashy, shallow, and relied heavily on its cast to carry it through its theatrical run.

This Just In: 'Wild Things 4' Rated R!

This Just In: 'Wild Things 4' Rated R!
Your sleep has been off lately, hasn't it? You can't quite place your finger on it, but you haven't been getting your full eight and what few hours you do get are plagued by tossing and turning that leaves you feeling like you've barely slept at all. Admit it, you've been rattled by the thought that Wild Things 4 would be the next victim of the Die Hard 4 curse and end up going the PG-13 route.

What, you didn't know there was a Wild Things 4? Well you do now and the good news is it just received an R rating. What's the bad news? Wild Things 4 exists and it's rated R for "some sexuality/nudity, language and violence." I mean, come 'on. "Some sexuality/nudity'? John McNaughton's original erotic thriller starring Denise Richards, Neve Campbell and Matt Dillion was given a "strong" classification for the same things 12 years ago!
