Robot Chicken exists in a very unique world, and the release of the seventh season on DVD hasn’t really changed anything.
The show is a wild and random mix of short vignettes that, in one way or another, take shots at pop culture and/or simply culture, with a definite air toward not just politically incorrect viewpoints, but several steps beyond the merely politically incorrect.
As time has gone on, the show created by Seth Green, Matthew Senreich, and Mike Fasolo, has clearly developed a distinct voice, but it has undergone changes as well. Certain sketches during the seventh season showcase a bit more style, and a more mature sense of how to get the comedy to deliver. That may sound a little highbrow for what is ultimately a completely ridiculous show that often features such things as the antics of Santa Claus as you’ve never seen him before, »

Big-budget movies go into production without a completed script with some frequency, so it was notable when the team behind the “Transformers” film franchise assembled a "think tank" to hash out a plan for the future of the series. “Daredevil” season one showrunner Steven DeKnight was in this think tank, joined by “Walking Dead” creator Robert Kirkman, Andrew Barrer & Gabriel Ferrari (“Ant-Man”), Art Marcum & Matt Holloway (“Iron Man”), and Zak Penn (“X-Men: The Last Stand”) among others. Akiva Goldsman led the charge in charting the course for the future of the “Transformers” franchise. DeKnight was on hand at today’s TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour to talk about the first season of Netflix’s "Daredevil." When asked about the “Transformers” experience, DeKnight said that it was “wonderful” that movies are now taking a page from television. “It was a wonderful experience,” DeKnight enthused. “Akiva Goldsman was fantastic and Jeff Pinkner was phenomenal. »

“Daredevil” Season one showrunner Steven DeKnight isn't returning for Season 2 - much to the chagrin of fans. DeKnight was already slated to write and direct a feature film and his schedule would not allow him to move forward with the Netflix series. DeKnight made an appearance at today's TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour to field questions about the first season and assure reporters that Matt Murdock is in capable hands with Season 2 co-showrunners Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez. “The Walking Dead” star Jon Bernthal is set to join the "Daredevil" cast as The Punisher for the second season and DeKnight -- a long-time Punisher fan -- says he was heartbroken to discover that he would not be able to bring that character to life. When asked if The Punisher’s introduction might reach the levels of violence that the 2008 Lexi Alexander-directed film “Punisher: War Zone” did, DeKnight laughed and said, »

Marvel’s Punisher could get his own Netflix series In the wake of the success of “Daredevil”’s first season Netflix has already announced an ambitious season two that will feature both Jon Bernthal as The Punisher (“The Walking Dead”) and Elodie Yung as Elektra. Before we see what has been described by Season 2 co-showrunner Marco Ramirez as “Daredevil vs. the Punisher”, however, we will be introduced to Jessica Jones. At today’s TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour Netflix announced that “Marvel’s Jessica Jones” will debut in the fourth quarter of 2015. Additionally, Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos said that Netflix’s plan is to release a new Marvel series every six months leading into the united team-up The Defenders, which will feature Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones. Sarandos added Adding, “Some will selectively have multiple seasons as they come out of the gate. So they »

Written and executive produced by Petty, the project follows the inner workings of a secret subdivision of the NYPD that functions as social services for some of the city’s most unique citizens — werewolves. Delving into the lives of both the Case Officers, and the secretive, highly insular Kveld-Ulf, a community of werewolves living deep in the borough, “Brooklyn Animal Control” will examine city politics, immigrant communities, and families divided by ambition, secrecy, and tradition.
“Batman v Superman” writer David Goyer, Circle of Confusion’s David Alpert and Rick Jacobs, and Idw Entertainment’s David Ozer and Ted Adams will serve as executive producers on the project, which hails from Universal Cable Productions and Idw Entertainment.

This review has been started over three times now. I keep going back and deleting huge chunks of text because nothing feels right. Whether I am preoccupied or not it’s hard to say, but one thing is certain Wayward Pines deserves better. For a ‘mini drama’ which has consistently delivered every week for the last nine, it would be sad if this finale let the side down.
Thankfully what we get is a smartly paced conclusion which leaves a lot of narrative doors open. There is more than enough source material to continue Pines on into a second season, but whether a similar cast can be found remains an issue. Because ultimately what lifts this above the competition, are some stellar performances from world-class talent. After all with Oscar nominees, globally recognised character actors and a solid gold premise, by God you have a show. »

If you’ve been wondering what The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman thinks of the new spin-off, you’re in luck. The comics-writer-turned-tv-executive has released a lengthy statement praising Fear The Walking Dead, and particularly its human angle.
“The Walking Dead has always been about the characters,” he said. “It's been the struggles of Rick, Michonne, Daryl, Maggie, Glenn, Carol and the rest, who are equally as important.”
“Now we get to introduce you to Madison, Travis, Alicia, Nick, Liza, Chris, Daniel, Ofelia and well... the cast continues to grow each episode... and yes... we do lose a few along the way. But where the "exciting" and "new" comes in... is that these people have their own experiences and reasons to survive.”
“They're complicated, real characters who will not be dealing »

Yesterday we brought you some cast images from the upcoming Walking Dead companion series Fear the Walking Dead, and now we have a look at some of the zombies set to feature in the upcoming show – and, given that the spinoff takes place earlier in the outbreak, these zombies are looking a little fresher…
Living in the same universe as The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead is a gritty drama that explores the onset of the undead apocalypse through the lens of a fractured family. Set in a city where people come to escape, shield secrets, and bury their pasts, a mysterious outbreak threatens to disrupt what little stability high school guidance counselor Madison Clark and English teacher Travis Manawa have managed to assemble. The everyday pressure of blending two families while dealing with resentful, escapist, and strung out children takes a back seat when society begins to break down. »

In case last year’s 1984 Retrospective series didn’t confirm it, this writer is a huge fan of the Gremlins movies. The first film turned thirty (along with myself) last year and I spent pages and pages telling you all just why it is still so amazing today (it’s here if you missed it). With this all in mind it was quite obvious that when the lead actor from both movies, Zach Galligan, was announced for London’s Film and Comic Con, I seized the opportunity to interview him.
That being said, I had met Galligan at a previous London and Film Comic Con a couple of years previous. It was before my time at Thn and I hadn’t quite managed to reign in the inner fan girl and I fear I may have come across as rather excitable. »
