John Cena to Play Lead Role in Duke Nukem Movie?

As Abraham in The Walking Dead, Michael Cudlitz's crew cut and sense of humor may have had some viewers thinking of the video game character Duke Nukem, but there's another actor who might be filling the character's combat boots on the big screen: John Cena.

According to EW, John Cena is in talks to play the titular role in a Duke Nukem movie that would be based on 3D Realms' video game franchise of the same name. The movie adaptation is in the works at Paramount Pictures and Platinum Dunes, with no director or screenwriter currently announced for the project.

Having first appeared in a 1991 side-scroller, the muscular soldier Duke Nukem went from being a mostly silent, serious character to a wisecracking anti-hero who saved Earth with shades, one-liners, and ammo... lots and lots of ammo.

In the original Duke Nukem, the titular character went up against the crazed Dr.

Prepare to Cry For a Full Hour When The Walking Dead Kills Off Carl

As we all know by now, Carl's days are numbered on The Walking Dead. And, well, if you were expecting an emotional goodbye, you were right: this week, executive producer Greg Nicotero revealed to Entertainment Weekly that Carl's death marks "one of the most powerful episodes [Twd has] ever produced." Grab the tissues, y'all. As a refresher, at the end of season eight's midseason finale, we watched with utter despair as Carl reveals a fatal zombie bite to Rick. In the time since, all we've been able to do is let that sad fact marinate. Carl will be gone. If you're upset that the show is bidding farewell to the staple character, you're not alone: Norman Reedus recently revealed that the cast is pretty torn up by the news as well. Now we're inching closer to the midseason premiere, and we'll have to try to brace ourselves for one truly heart-wrenching hour of television.

The Walking Dead’s Upcoming Mid-Season Premiere Brought Greg Nicotero To Tears

Batten down the hatches and fortify those heartstrings; The Walking Dead‘s mid-season premiere has its crosshairs placed on our collective hearts.

And if Greg Nicotero is to be believed, it’ll leave us sobbing into our popcorn. The series stalwart and executive producer, who took on directing duties for what is undoubtedly season 8’s biggest episode yet, spoke to Entertainment Weekly as part of the outlet’s ongoing Twd coverage, and it was here where he admitted to breaking down in the editing room.

In case you’ve been hiding under a rock, death has come knocking for the young Carl Grimes, evoking all sorts of passionate reactions from across the industry – even Robert Kirkman has weighed in with his own two cents. Nicotero, meanwhile, told EW that it’s “never easy” to lose a series regular.

It’s never easy. It’s never easy because you can never

Steven Yeun Discusses Life After The Walking Dead

Long before The Walking Dead community began mourning the end of Carl Grimes, fans of AMC’s flagship zombie drama were left shell-shocked by the sudden (and brutal!) death of Glenn Rhee, who had been a staunch, loyal member of Rick’s ragtag crew from the off.

Killed at the hands of Negan – ditto for Abraham, sadly – Glenn’s demise was difficult to swallow, and after a full season-and-a-half worth of drama, The Walking Dead viewers are slowly beginning to acclimate to life without Glenn. Only for Carl to be left on the brink following a nasty walker bite.

But death is a part of life, and after eight long seasons, it’s very much a cornerstone of The Walking Dead‘s appeal, even if fans don’t like to admit it. As for life on the other side, Steven Yeun (Glenn) recently opened up about his departure in a candid interview with Variety.

Dwayne Johnson Battles Monsters In Epic New Rampage Trailer

Tomb Raider isn’t the only video game adaptation coming down the pipeline this year. Rampage, which is based on Midway’s arcade classic, has officially set up shop at New Line and will star Dwayne Johnson as a primatologist named Davis Okoye, “a man who keeps people at a distance and shares an unshakable bond with George, the extraordinarily intelligent, silverback gorilla who has been in his care since birth.”

Indeed, George is one of three animals to be grossly mutated as a result of a genetic experiment gone horribly, horribly wrong. A lizard and wolf are also in line to become hulking rage monsters, for those keeping track, and it seems that Johnson’s Okoye will have his hands full dealing with them all.

Or at least, that’s what this latest trailer teases. Though not terribly long, it promises a showdown between “big” and “bigger” as we

The Walking Dead Midseason Premiere To Feature Flashforwards

The season 8 premiere of The Walking Dead introduced an intriguing narrative device: flashforwards depicting an apparent vision of the future which saw Old Man Rick with his children, Carl and Judith, in a happy Alexandria. These scenes were rendered even more perplexing, though, when Carl was revealed to have been bitten by a walker in the midseason finale.

When the show returns, though, it looks like we’ll find out what’s going on with these mysterious flashforwards. That’s because we’ve now been promised that the midseason premiere will closely tie into the opening episode of the season, which was also the commemorative 100th installment of The Walking Dead.

While talking with EW, showrunner Scott Gimple explained that there will be a “deep relationship” between the two episodes.

“Though it’s not the end of the overall story, in many ways its relationship to [Episode 8×01] is pretty important in

The loss last year of director George A. Romero was a huge blow to the horror community, as well as the filmmaking community at large. 2018 SAG Awards TV predictions: Complete racetrack odds in all 9 categories

The 24th Screen Actors Guild Awards will take place Sunday, January 21, in a live ceremony airing on TNT and TBS (8/7c) hosted by Kristen Bell — the show’s first host ever. While it’s just the latest stop on the long Oscar campaign for films, it’s the final major awards show of the season for TV folk until the Emmys in September.

SAG doesn’t have perfect correlation with the Emmys, partially due to the fact that the former doesn’t feature supporting TV categories and because SAG voters love repeat winners more than anyone. SAG’s top award, for ensemble, has also honored a handful of casts whose shows have not won a series award at the Emmys, including three-time champs “Orange Is the New Black” and Downton Abbey,” and two-time champ “Boardwalk Empire.”

Stranger Things” and “Glow” are the most nominated shows with four each in a field dominated by Netflix,
