Waking the Dead have us some wonderful villains over the years, however, Linda Cummings arguably ranked as the finest, it was no surprise that they brought her back. For my money, this is still Ruth Gemmell's best acting.
It's a wonderful first episode to the final story of series eight. It is super fast paced, exciting and intriguing, there is also the added complexity of Grace's situation, which draws a softer side of Boyd.
Gina McKee makes a great addition, but this is all about Boyd v Cummings.
Terrific, 9/10.
