Storyline

Risk averse Erica has decided that in not taking risks, she is often standing on the sidelines wondering how much more could have been achieved. Testing the sexual boundaries with Ethan may be one thing, but the bigger risk is the opportunity to write the sex book instead of edit it, which is what Julianne is offering her. If she accepts, that means she has to give up her stable editing job. This decision is reminiscent of the year after the completion of her undergraduate degree, when she and Jenny were going to go to Taipei for the summer to teach English but otherwise just "wing it". Erica chickened out at the last minute, which she has since regretted since it ended up being the worst summer of her life working at a boring government job instead. Cultural Revolution (#2.4)

Really not an episode that I liked. While I like the message that not all risks are right for everyone, I dislike the fact that Erica was a judgmental *****. I like Jenny's way of life and I see no problem with her having her fun with a rich guy in Taipei or going with that new guy to LA. Who the hell is Erica to tell her how to live? So Jenny going to LA isn't a risk, well then so isn't Erica being a prude or not feeling like writing a sex book. Jenny is right, some people who get into relationships just become boring and want everyone else to follow them. What exactly would Jenny lose if it wouldn't work out? Not much, she could just move back and still have great memories from the time with him. Too bad they will make her now follow Erica's "great advice" and I hope Erica will not turn more and more into a person I can't stand
