Storyline

Booth, still suffering some lingering effects from his brain surgery, has to get re-certified for FBI marksmanship, but is not the accurate shot he was before going under the knife. Meanwhile, the team at the Jeffersonian investigates the remains of a little person discovered in a sinkhole. The victim, Bryce DaFonte, also known as "The Iron Leprechaun," competed in a popular wrestling league, but the popularity of the franchise left him with many enemies, including bitter competitors and scorned lovers, any of whom could have caused his downfall. Trivia

When Cam and Vincent first talk in the lab Cam walks past a posted x-ray. The x-ray is of cartoon character Homer Simpson. Dan Castellaneta, the voice of Homer Simpson, guest stars briefly as Officer Novarro in this episode. (Additionally, the dwarf wrestling match is won by Bumblebee Man, a recurring character in The Simpsons.) A few bars of the Simpson's theme is played at end of the scene with Officer Novarro. Goofs

In season 4 Booth's brain tumor is diagnosed as a cerebellar pilocytic astrocytoma; however in this episode, when Booth thinks his marksmanship may have been affected by the brain tumor, Bones tells him it's unlikely because his tumor wasn't cerebellar. She says the tumor was in the tempero-parietal region. While it is possible his initial diagnosis was incorrect (this was not addressed on the show) it is highly unlikely that these two regions of the brain would be confused on a CAT scan. See more »

Quotes

Nicole DaFonte: Are you going to tell Derek about us?
Special Agent Seeley Booth: No. No, I'm not going to say anything to him. But I will tell you that if you've been in love with another man for 10 years, your husband knows.

A problem solved

Love seeing Gordon Gordon! Everyone has such a good rapport with him. Angela and he like to assess Booth and Brennan's relationship. Gordon and Sweets evaluate the relationship from another angle, and they all come to the same conclusion involving Booth and Brennan. Of course, we don't need Gordon's affirmation to know what we've known since Season 1!

Booth also admits to something big in this episode, and it's proved in the last scene. We are getting so much closer, yet it still seems so far away!

Oh, and the main story: it's another age-old money and greed Biblical story.
