Patrick Jane: Eh, parents. It's funny, isn't it? The big regrets in life, people keep to themselves.
Teresa Lisbon: I don't know. I tell people about you.
Patrick Jane: Nice one. Zinger. High and tight.
Patrick Jane: Okay, I'll see a doctor. Uh, excuse me, doctor?
Doc: [the Medical Examiner turns around] Hmm?
Patrick Jane: I know, I'm a live patient. I'm excited too.
Teresa Lisbon: Do you know who the killer is?
Patrick Jane: What do you think?
Teresa Lisbon: I think you said "What do you think" to make me think you do so I'll go with you, but you really don't.
Patrick Jane: Cho?
Kimball Cho: Baseball bat, Baseball Academy, that's not common sense.
Kimball Cho: Great. We'll all go.
Teresa Lisbon: Let's go see a doctor.
Patrick Jane: Why? You feeling unwell?
Teresa Lisbon: No, you are. Cho said you almost fainted.
Patrick Jane: Oh, I was just pretending. I had these kind of dramatic scenes. Poor kid.
Teresa Lisbon: Liar! You just don't want to go to the doctor.
[Jane has just regained consciousness after being hit in the head with a baseball]
Patrick Jane: Wow. I've never caught a foul ball before.
Teresa Lisbon: Technically, you still haven't. Cho, you take him.
Patrick Jane: Oh, no, no. I'm fine.
Kimball Cho: [holds up 3 fingers] How many fingers?
Patrick Jane: Six. Haven't we got a murder to solve?
Teresa Lisbon: You were unconscious.
Patrick Jane: No I wasn't!
Kimball Cho: Jane, you were.
Patrick Jane: Was not!
Patrick Jane: Your turn.
Patrick Jane: Just like most people read books, I read minds.
Snake Gallidos: Okay, what am I thinking?
Patrick Jane: You're thinking "Holy crap, I hope he can't really read minds otherwise I'd be in deep trouble right now."
Young Jane: You know you're always saying, when you're working strong, work strong be brave. Well, I was working strong and I was right.
Alex: No, there is no "right" if there's no payoff. This is show business, not show art.
Wayne Rigsby: $20 million, that's a pretty good motive. $20 million - I'd kill you.
Grace Van Pelt: Oh, really?
Wayne Rigsby: No. I mean, um, kidding. It's a joke.
Jupiter: It's the biggest day of their lives, don't you get that?
Teresa Lisbon: Barney Sloop had his head bashed in, Mr. Gallegos. Big day for him too.
Young Jane: She's dying, okay? We're stealing for a dying girl.
Alex: All right. You know we're all dying, kid. Okay? We're all dying. But what we're giving her because, yeah, she'll be dead by Tuesday and needs it more than most, is hope. Do you get that?
Young Jane: I can't do it.
Alex: Okay, you're either with the show or you're not. You're a loser, or you're someone who plays the losers. And you can't back out when you feel like it! When it's morally convenient, when you don't have the guts. I never backed out. I've been carrying you for a long time and it's not getting any easier, son. No act. You gonna work that all out by yourself. You going solo? Yes or no, boy. Are you with me? Come on, you gotta say.
Patrick Jane: Well I'm just saying be careful. That you sell your talent and not your soul. Don't let other people run your lives not even your dad. And trust me I know what I'm talking about.
Grace Van Pelt: My sister, she was just like you.
Leslie: Look, I don't - I don't want to hear this.
Grace Van Pelt: She wanted it to be over - for *her*. It was always about her. She could've talked to me.
Leslie: About what?
Grace Van Pelt: About anything. I'm her sister. But she didn't. Not to anybody. She just ended it for *her*.
