"Dark Blue" A Shot in the Dark (2009)

Carter is the prime suspect in the killing of an undercover DEA officer, with Jaimie, Ty and Dean as witnesses to the shooting. But Carter's recollection of the event involves a third person in a blue car, something none of the others remember seeing. Meanwhile, Melissa starts pressuring Ty to leave the undercover unit so they can start a family. And Jaimie's boyfriend, Scott, gets a new job in San Francisco. Written by TNT.tv

Carter puzzles his team by suddenly canceling drug dealer Steve Fuller alias Nate's bust. They stay around and hear, not see, his later encounter with the man, a DEA undercover agent, his former LAPD partner and his ex Nicole Shaw's new lover, who is found shot dead. They know Carter's self-defense and accidental hit story at a fictitious third man's arrival is bogus. When DEA Agent Julia Harris conducts an informal investigation, only Dean pleads unconditional trust, he even delivers a cash envelope at city hall, again without explanation. Jamie swallows her initial reluctance to cover, even ends up confessing her own pack of lies to boyfriend Scott Muller when he invites her along when he moves to San Francisco for a new job.
