The financing of this film was later revealed as a tax fraud. Executive producer Terence S. Potter arranged invoices for far more than it cost, so that investors could claim tax breaks. He was given an eight year jail sentence in December 2015. Director Chris Atkins was also implicated, although he did not personally benefit; he was sentenced to five years in June 2016.
