Two sisters, Donalyn and Meesha, are placed in foster care. The new parents are seen taking the girls home. They seem to be a normal couple that will do the right thing by giving them the home they have never known. As they go by a bad area, Donalyn shows interest in the crowd of rappers gathered at a corner. Kenneth Watson makes it known he doesn't want Donalyn near that place. Alice Watson, the foster mother shows a softer side to the sisters.

Donalyn goes to the rappers' area. She watches Sophie, a teen that has the looks and acts as being part of the scene. Donalyn decides to show the crowd what she can do. Some of the teens are impressed. That brings her to the attention of Zeb, an enterprising young man who wants to promote Donalyn.

Donalyn meets a horrible fate as she was killed in the basement of a hip hop club. A prisoner that is being held in jail offers to unravel the case when the Cold Case comes to see what he has to offer. In reconstructing the crime, one thing becomes apparent, Kenneth Watson was a child molester that took advantage of Donalyn. He appears to have the motive for wanting to kill the girl. Others, in the hip hop crowd, like Sophie and Huxtable are also suspects. But the real murderer turns out to be someone no one thought about.

Kevin Bray is the director for this episode. Erica Anderson is the author. Some good appearances in this chapter by Danielle Watts and Tracy Heggins. Also Kadeem Hardison from the old TV favorite "A Different World" has a small part. Bobby Cannavale is seen as Eddie Saccardo, a man that shows interest for Lilly. Iona Morris and Lanei Chapman play the pivotal role of Alice Watson, present and past.
