To be honest I wasn't really sure what to expect when sitting down to watch this DVD. Most of the time I research and find out some behind the scenes info on a film before I watch it. With The Counterpart I didn't, a mate of mine had a copy and said I should check it out one night and so I did.
At first I was little unsure what the hell was going on with this film. Gangsters and zombies?? Seriously? Anyway I stuck this film out and man I had a fun and entertaining night watching it. The first quarter of the film was a little slow but as this film got more and more in I got hooked!
The film has obviously been made with a small team and budget. In some parts the production values were a little questionable but considering what was on show you can't really judge it on that because there's some ambitious stuff going on in this movie. Like some of the shoot outs with the zombies in the movie are rather funny at times and action driven. If you are into your splatter and like a laugh then you should check this out.
I was amazed towards the end with some of the special effects created in the film, from explosions, gun shots and blood bursts. I couldn't really tell what was real or made in a computer. Oh and the chicks in this film are hot! Definitely worth a watch just for them!! It's also got some solid Aussie humour and characters in the film too something we need more of I think!
Check this film out I think it's a good movie for a weekend in with some pizza, drinks and your mates!
