The series is back on target with this above-average well-spun tale.
A priest is having an affair with the wife of a man who runs a company that supplies used medical equipment and some drugs for HIV to African countries. The evidence and suspicions ping-pong among several suspects. Kurt seems now to have won Katerina's heart.
Three themes were explored in this episode, which raise it above the mundane. One is religious belief. A second is the decision to pull the plug on a patient whose breathing is not recovering. The third is profit in selling medical goods. One may or may not agree with the thrust of how the characters feel about these matters, but at least the script had the courage to explore them, and they are all interesting.
There are a few suspenseful moments. Mostly we are there with Kurt and his helpers trying to understand the evidence. In this one, Kurt seems to break one of his rules and leap to a conclusion. However, he is always flexible enough to see his error and shift directions quickly.
Kurt's dog Jussi runs off awhile, but it's not tied into the story. The script is not building Jussi as a chararacter. We hardly get a good look at his face and eyes.
