Storyline

Because Erica reneged on her vow not to try and save Leo from dying, Dr. Tom quits being her therapist. He refuses to see her. Erica in turn refuses to continue with therapy with her new assigned therapist, Dr. Naadiah. Erica feels that perhaps she doesn't require therapy anymore. She is in a committed, loving relationship with Ethan. She got the much coveted job editing River Rock's latest high profile book (much to Brent's chagrin). And her relationship with her family is the best it's ever been. But Erica learns that there is a cost to quitting therapy. That cost is helping another lost soul. The year is 1998, the place a Coyote Ugly type bar. Her down and out client is someone named Tom Wexler, who Erica knows but under a slightly different name. Before Erica can help him, she has to understand how Tom Wexler became the man he is. But what he sees as Erica's meddling in Tom Wexler's life may bring Dr. Tom out of his self-imposed silence. Being Dr. Tom (#2.1)
22 July 2012 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

A great beginning for the second season.

Right away they deal with the situation of Dr. Tom and we are lucky to see that he is not leaving anywhere. We also get to learn more about him, we get to know about his own problems in life. This just brings more questions about him, like whether he is alive or not (judging by him saying that this question is not to be answered yet, we will find it out one day).

I really liked to see Erica doing everything trying to help him. And the conversations they had were really well done, both in his past as in their present.

And it seems that we will get to see more doctors although I am not sure if this is a good thing for the show.
