'Not Broken' is a beautiful illustration of how you should pursue your God-given talents and passions and accept who God made you to be. It is a really inspirational film.
The characters are beautifully played and well-developed. The protagonist is very inspiring as she challenges the antagonist her mother, to accept her for who she is, and focus on what is not broken in her.
Sadly, her mother is driven by fear and tries to bury the talent, passion and dreams that her daughter possesses. This is very relatable as parents sometimes try to live vicariously through their children and not taking the time to listen to the heart of their children, thereby causing them much grief and pain.
In a world where there is much emphasis on academics, it is sometimes forgotten that talent and hobbies are important in a person's development. The message of this film is to persevere and never let go a God-given dream. It also shows that opportunity meets those who are prepared and we should pursue our God-given passions; and in doing so prosperity will find us.
This movie clearly embraces diversity in people. I loved the fact that people who society might call disabled were portrayed positively and are celebrated for the ways in which they inspire us and cause us to accept who God has made us to be.
This is a beautiful family movie. It offers great opportunity to teach children about self-acceptance and self-love. This is a message that the world needs right now.
