- After the latest weigh-in when Dina was voted off the campus, the two teams are matched five black team members against five blue team members. As such, the next weigh-in will be an individual one-on-one battle, the team winning at least three of the five match-ups will win the week. The reward challenge - one of speed and agility - will allow the winning team to determine who will be matched up against whom at the weigh-in. The following challenge will provide both a reward - a Curtis Stone cooked lunch - and a 2-pound advantage at the weigh-in to use as they see fit. The challenge itself is inspired by campus guest Derek Jeter. During the workouts, Abby, Amanda and Shay speak openly and emotionally about their challenges and fears with Jillian. At the weigh-in, beyond the actual one against one match-ups, one contestant hits a milestone.—Huggo
- It's an intense week on "The Biggest Loser" when the contestants learn from host Alison Sweeney that they will each face off against a player from the opposing team at weigh-in. The winner of the pop challenge gains considerable control by getting to choose who faces off against whom. Then New York Yankee and four-time World Series champ Derek Jeter gives the players a pep talk about the importance of teamwork before they embark on a wild baseball challenge. The challenge winner then gets a delicious and healthy Mediterranean meal prepared by acclaimed chef Curtis Stone. Later, one player breaks a "Biggest Loser" record at weigh-in, and then the contestants say goodbye to one of their own in the most emotional elimination so far of this season.—NBC Publicity
- Open with Team Blue learning the Dina was Team Black's elimination last week. Black members painted the picture of a tough decision, but Liz didn't seem to buy it.
Alison greets everybody at Week 7's Pop challenge and reminds Rudy he is 13 pounds away from being the fastest contestant to lose 100 pounds. She tells the group they will be going head-to-head with someone from the opposite team this week. All five contestants will weigh-off against someone with one point on the line. The team that wins at least three of the five face-offs will not have to send anybody home. The challenge consists of bobbing under a bar and touching two hangings discs. First to 500 touches wins. Only one player at a time and each player must go once and only once. Plus, the team that wins the challenge gets to pick this week's face-off matchups.
Abby and Tracey are up first. Abby tags-in Shay after only 20 touches with a small lead. Tracey tags-in Allen after 100 touches, with Blue down a few. Danny follows Shay and immediately gets caught by Allen. Amanda touches-in for Danny with Black down by almost 20. Liz follows Allen. Amanda looks quick and Liz falls down. Liz tags-in Rudy with Blue's lead down to a just a couple. Rudy's height appears to cost him as Amanda pulls Black within two points near 350 and tags-in Daniel. Rudy maintains a 1-point lead and tags-in Rebecca at about the 390-point mark. Daniel slows and Rebecca pulls out a 500-497 victory for Blue.
Blue creates the face-offs as follows: Rebecca vs. Amanda, Tracey vs. Abby, Allen vs. Danny, Rudy vs. Shay and Liz vs. Daniel.
We see the teams' first workout of the week. Bob has Blue in the pool. During Black's workout, Amanda has another mental meltdown and complains to Jillian she can't keep up the pace. Amanda talks about the pressure of the show being too much.
Next is a challenge at a baseball stadium. Via a Derek Jeter video (you couldnt show up, really?), they are told there are 2,000+ baseball scattered around the outfield and posters of the contestants near home plate. Contenstants have to grab as many balls as they can and run to the infield and toss them at the opposing team pictures. As soon as a contestant's picture is hit with 316 baseballs (Jeter's lifetime batting average) they are eliminated. The last team standing wins a lunch from Curtis Stone and a two-pound weight advantage at the weigh-in. Tracey and Abby sit-out the challenge.
From the get-go Black team has a better strategy. They all go after Allen and eliminate him first. Blue eliminates Amanda to even the score at 3-3. Next to go for Blue is Rebecca, and Black then turns its attention to Rudy. Daniel is eliminated and each team has two players left. Rudy is down next, leaving Liz to go after Shay and Danny by herself. She doesn't last long and Black wins its first challenge of the season.
Curtis Stone teaches Black how to make a Mediterranean burger using ground turkey and mushroom caps instead of buns.
At the next workout Jillian grills Abby about her mental improvement since starting the show. In arguably the show's most unintentionally funny moment, Jillian stares intensely into Abby's face and asks her what it's like to lose your entire family. Abby re-tells the story of her husband and two young children being killed (did it just get really dusty in my living room?) and then assures Jillian she is confident she will now live "and not just exist." Like the rest of us, Jillian gets weepy as Abby confirms "I'm going to make it."
Amanda discusses walking out on the last workout with Jillian. Jillian thinks Amanda is scared to fail. At Last-Chance Allen performs some impressive feats on plyometric platforms. Jillian turns her amateur psychiatrist eye to Shay, and grills her about being the child of a drug addict. Jillian tells Shay she has to forgive herself.
Weigh-in time, people. Black tells Alison they are giving their two extra pounds to Amanda. Amanda is up first, dropping four pounds from 218 to 214 Despite the two extra pounds, Rebecca's nine pound loss (232 to 223) is enough to earn Blue the first point.
Abby loses a disappointing three pounds (204 to 201). Needing only three pounds to get the second pound, Tracey is down five (202 to 197). Black gets its first point of the week, with Danny's 12-pound loss (357 to 345) better than Allen's eight (270 to 262).
After gaining a pound last week, Daniel is down only five pounds this week (277 to 272). Jillian is stunned, given he is on the same program as Danny, who has lost 27 pounds in the same stretch. Liz needs at least five pounds to beat Daniel's percentage. She does it with seven (228 to 221) and Black will be voting someone off once again.
The only weigh-in drama left is whether Rudy can break the show record for fastest to lose 100 pounds and if Shay can beat Danny's percentage and earn team immunity for the vote. Shay comes up five pounds short of Danny (411 to 402). With previous record-holder Dane in-studio, Rudy drops 14 more pounds to become the fastest Loser to lose 100 pounds.
Almost immediately Abby starts making the case that she is ready to go home and convinces her teammates why she should be the one to leave. "I am soaring, and I will fly home," she tell them.
As expected, Abby effectively falls on the sword. Shay, Amanda and Daniel all vote for Abby (though curiously Danny votes for Daniel) and she is gonzo this week. Abby tearfully assures everyone she is having new dreams and is finding reasons to "re-join life."
The show concludes with a vignette on Abby. The day after leaving the show she is greeted by a huge gathering of friends of family in her home town. We see that she is down another 34 pounds since leaving the show and is doing some inspirational public speaking work.
