Live from Denver, Colorado

Your hosts are Tony Schiavone & Bobby Heenan

Cruiserweight Championship

Rey Mysterio (C) Vs Dean Malenko

Malenko initially wins the title with a gutbuster from the top. However, Mysterio's foot was on the ropes. While Malenko is arguing with the referee, Mysterio jumps up and gets Malenko in a victory roll to get the win. This was a really good opener tainted by a silly finish. In a way, I understand it, because you had to protect Malenko in some fashion.

***1/2

V.K. Wallstreet Vs "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan

I literally just groaned when I found out about this match. Wallstreet wins with a roll-up. At the end of that match, Duggan yells "This stinks!" That's exactly what I thought about this match.

*

Next, is an interview with The Nasty Boys. They yell nonsensical crap like they always do and demand a title shot for the tag team titles.

The Ultimo Dragon (W/Sonny Onoo) Vs Konnan

Konnan wins after holding the tights of Dragon's. Was this even a match? Both wrestlers stalled a lot and neither were able to fully kick into gear. It was a heel vs heel match, and you had nobody to root for.

*1/4

Meng Vs "Macho Man" Randy Savage

Savage doesn't come out to the ring. Therefore, Meng wins by forfeit. That suits me, I didn't wanna see this match anyways.

Gene Okerlund is in the ring with the Dungeon of Doom. Kevin Sullivan told the world for over a year that Hulk Hogan was no good. Gene Okerlund thinks it had something to do with his failed career in Hollywood. A man dressed up as a Leprechaun randomly runs around the ring while Kevin Sullivan talks about how WCW should be relying on The Dungeon of Doom, not The Four Horsemen. This was utterly pointless.

Madusa Vs Bull Nakano (W/Sonny Onoo)

Sony Onoo accidentally kicks Nakano. Madusa rolls up Nakano from behind and gets the pin. I wish they'd give these two some time! They are capable of good matches. This felt so inconsequential.

*1/4

Ric Flair cuts a promo about his title match with Hulk Hogan later tonight.

Lord of the Ring

Diamond Dallas Paige Vs Eddie Guerrero

Eddie wins the ring with the frog splash. DDP suckers him in with a handshake after the match, only to hit three diamond cutters on him. Chavo Guerrero tends to DDP. Unfortunately, these two produced an average match. However, I'm liking the idea of this as a feud long- term.

**

Hulk Hogan comes out, incensed at Gene Okerlund for saying the stuff he did about him earlier tonight. He says Ric Flair could never lace his boots up. He says 13 time champion is an unlucky number, and he'll never be the NWO champion. No matter how hard he tries, he'll never be the Babe Ruth of wrestling. He says after tonight, Ric Flair will be known as the "stupid little man who couldn't get the job done.

Thoughts: This was a decent promo from Hogan, but he's still not at his best.

Chris Beniot (W/Miss Elizabeth & Woman) Vs The Giant (W/Jimmy Hart)

Woman holds onto Beniot's ring jacket. The Giant takes advantage and hits a sick looking chokeslam to win in just a few seconds. Well, that ended quickly....

DUD

Tag Team Championship (Triangle Match)

Harlem Heat (C) (W/Sister Sherri & Col. Rob Parker) Vs Sting & Lex Luger Vs The Steiner Brothers

The Steiner's have the match won after Scott delivers the frankensteiner. However, Nick Patrick casually stops counting at two when The Outsiders casually run down to get involved and Nick Patrick calls for the DQ. This is a good match ruined by a really stupid finish. Because of the finish, I have to deduct the rating from ***1/4 to ***

***

Referee, Nick Patrick defends his decision to Gene Okerlund. He claims he's with WCW all the way. Sure you are, Nick.

World Heavyweight Championship

Hulk Hogan (C) Vs Ric Flair (W/Miss Elizabeth & Woman)

Flair has the match won with the figure four, but The Outsiders run in and interfere. Arn Anderson, Steve McMichael, Chris Beniot, Sting, and Lex Luger run out to aid Flair. This was a weird match from these two. It was a bit unclear who was face and who was heel. Hogan is technically the heel, but he hulked up during the match at one point. The fans seemed unsure on who to cheer as well.

6/10 overall.
