Siimes on an "island"
Petey-1030 January 2010
Pentti Siimes is an office worker whose car Simca halts. He ends up shipwrecked in a traffic circle in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki. Then he is joined by Perjantai.Robinson Crusoe Jr (1976) is directed by Vesa Nuotio and Pertti Reponen. It says the script is written by Daniel Defoe Jr, but it's most likely Pertsa Reponen.Pentti Siimes proves once again his amazing comic talents.Heikki Huopainen does great work as Perjantai. The legendary Ansa Ikonen shines as the mother in her second last movie role. The comedy of the film comes from that how this man finds the surroundings with its trees and plants and animals peculiar. And how he finally manages to survive, looking like a man of the woods with a long bear and the untidy clothes. It's quite funny to watch all those escape attempts from the island. This movie is an intriguing glance on how a city boy survives in the wilderness.
