"Dr. Death" Steve Williams Vs The Samoan Savage (W/The Big Kahuna)
Williams wins with a backslide. This was a pretty average way to start the show. It wasn't anything horrible, just strictly an average match that was forgettable.
The Four Horsemen (Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Ole Anderson & Sting) are out for an interview with Terry Funk. Ole says Sting can no longer be a member of the Four Horsemen. Ole says they didn't expect Sting to help Ric Flair like he did. Ole says that Sting was a good Four Horsemen member, but he did something unforgivable by signing a contract to face Ric Flair for the World Heavyweight Title. Ole says because of Ric Flair, they're gonna let Sting live as long as Sting gives up his chance at the World Title. Sting refuses to do it and gets knocked down by Ric Flair. Flair tells Sting to get out of his life and sign somewhere else.
'Flyin' Brian Pillman & The Z-Man (Tom Zenk) Vs The Mod Squad
Pillman & Zenk win. I have no idea who The Mod Squad are, but they held their own against Pillman and Zenk. This turned out to be a fairly decent match. I was expecting a squash match.
Cactus Jack Mansion Vs Mil Mascaras
Mil Mascaras wins with a flying cross body from the top. Catcus Jack took a really sick bump during this match. Mil Mascaras dropkicks Cactus off the apron, and Catcus lands on the back of his head right on the concrete. As far as the match goes, that's about the only noteworthy thing about it.
Falls Count Anywhere
Kevin Sullivan Vs Norman "The Lunatic"
Norman wins off-screen in the women's restroom with a toilet seat. This is one of the reasons why WCW was horrid. This was inane drivel anyway you look at it. The finish was laughable as well.
Next, Terry Funk interviews Lex Luger. Lex says Sting is a phenomenal athlete, but he should be happy where he is. Lex says he (Luger) should be the number one contender. He says he's developed respect for Ric Flair, and the respect is mutual. He says he won't tolerate Sting being the number one contender. Luger says he is what every woman wants, what every man wishes he could be, and what youngsters aspire to be in the future. He says the only goal he has left to achieve is winning the World Heavyweight Title.
The Road Warriors (W/Paul Ellering) Vs The "New" Skyscrapers (W/Teddy Long)
The new Skyscrapers are The Undertaker (Known as "Mean" Mark Callous here) and Danny Spivey. The Road Warriors win by DQ after The Skyscrapers use steel chairs on Hawk and Animal. This was a mediocre match. I prefer the original Skyscrapers when Sid was on the team.
Tag Team Championship (Masks Vs Titles)
The Steiner Brothers (C) Vs Doom
If Doom loses, they are forced to unmask. The Steiner Brothers win. Doom is revealed to be consisted of Butch Reed and Ron Simmons. The match itself was good. It was exciting and both had good chemistry. It's the unmasking that felt anti-climatic.
Steel Cage Match
Ric Flair, Arn Anderson & Ole Anderson Vs The Great Muta, Buzzdog Sawyer & The Dragonmaster
Arn Anderson wins by pinning The Dragonmaster with a DDT. Sting came out and tried to climb the cage to get at Ric Flair, but officials and wrestlers held him back. After the match, Flair comes after Sting and they brawl to end the show. This match was about the anticipation of Sting appearing. Nobody really cared about the match itself.
This show was tolerable, but that's about it. Flair's rushed heel turn wasn't really necessary, but his feud with Sting is great. That's about the best thing on this show.
