Miami would-be-model Ashley Tanner was murdered, as turns out carved up alive. She was tricked by fake agent Jimmy Burris, a ruthless pimp. The MO corresponds with a murder in Las Vegas, except another limb was severed. So CSI Dr. Ray Langston flies over to collaborate on the investigation. The instrument, a professional meat cleaver, is traced to butchery chain owner Nathan Cole, who is linked to Burris trough the vicious Zeta Boys gang. The chef Nathan Cole is caught by traces of human blood being found on his meat cleaver. This test was run a couple of weeks after the cleaver was used to cut up a woman's body. This would be impossible as all traces of human blood would have been washed away, as all professional chefs wash their knives daily and sometimes multiple times a day. See more »
This is the first of a unique trilogy in which all three CSI heads will play a role in solving a case of human trafficking. The second episode takes place in New York on that program, and third in the original Las Vegas CSI TV show.
The story begins in Miami, where a body parts of a young adult woman is found in the Everglades. It turns out she was from Las Vegas, so "Horatio Caine" calls up his counterpart in Vegas, "Ray Langston" to come and check things out and help solve this case.
It turns out to be a case of human trafficking. This victim has just been one of many who have kidnapped, drugged and then used for sex or other things. If they don't cooperate, they are hacked up and something their parts, such as the liver, is sold for people looking for a donor. It's all sick business as Caine and Langston find out, and "Mac Taylor" of CSI-NY as well.
At first, this looks like just one murder case, but it turns out to be much more....and an interesting one, at that. Some interesting sidebars include two of the Miami CSI guys coming face-to-face with a big bear. I didn't know those brown bears were down in Florida!
