- Dr. Derek Shepherd: t's not the doctors, Richard. They're all good doctors.
- Dr. Richard Webber: I know that. Who do you think this was for? For Jennings, it was about legal, but this was for me. I needed to know who was finally was responsible. At least I was about to do that.
- [Derek sighs]
- Dr. Richard Webber: Say it, Derek.
- Dr. Derek Shepherd: Maybe it's not one doctor. Maybe it's too many doctors who don't know each other and who don't trust each other. When I got to that room, it was chaos, because that's the system now, chaos. That has been the system that has been in place since this merger. Your system. I'm saying you should look again at who's responsible.
- Dr. Meredith Grey: [opening voiceover] In order to get a good diagnosis, doctors have to constantly change their perspective. We start by getting the patients point of view, though they don't often have a clue what's going on. So we look at the patient from every possible angle. We rule things out. We uncover new information trying to get to what's actually wrong. We're asking for second opinions hoping we'll see something others might have missed. For the patient, a fresh perspective can mean the difference between living and dying. For the doctor, it can mean your picking a fight with everyone who got there before you.
- Dr. Meredith Grey: [closing voiceover] When we're heading towards an outcome that's too horrible to face, that's when we go looking for a second opinion. Sometimes, the answer we get just confirms our worst fears but sometimes, it can shed new light on the problem. Make you see it in a whole new way. After all the opinions have been heard and every point of view has been considered, you finally find what you were after, the truth. But the truth isn't where it ends. That's just where you begin again with a whole new set of questions.
- Dr. Cristina Yang: I'm putting myself in a time out before I kill someone.
- Dr. Meredith Grey: Have you seen Bailey? She was supposed to sign my discharge papers after her appy?
- Dr. Cristina Yang: Oh, good, go home, get better and then come back, 'cause I need you.
- Dr. Meredith Grey: Are the Mercy West people that bad?
- Dr. Cristina Yang: They're everywhere and there are more of them than us, and they're kicking our asses. God, I miss Izzie. We need more "uses", so get back here.
- Dr. Cristina Yang: I have to be discharged first. You want to forge Bailey's signature?
- Dr. Cristina Yang: No, that'll get me fired. Ooh, ask one of the new ones to do it. Get them fired.
- Dr. Miranda Bailey: [about Charles] He fainted.
- Dr. Richard Webber: He fainted?
- Dr. Miranda Bailey: He fainted.
- Lawrence Jennings: From what?
- Dr. Miranda Bailey: He better have a brain tumor or something 'cause that's just unacceptable.
- Dr. Alex Karev: I never even seen that patient. I was stitching up Nose Dive.
- Dr. Richard Webber: Nose Dive?
- Dr. Alex Karev: What's his name? The dude th... that fainted?
- HR Woman: Dr. Percy.
- Lawrence Jennings: [laughs] Nose Dive. That's gonna stick.
- Dr. Charles Percy: So April missed the airway, huh? That's so stupid.
- Dr. Lexie Grey: Airway first.
- Dr. Jackson Avery: It's like med school 101, right?
- Dr. Alex Karev: It's pretty basic.
- Dr. Reed Adamson: It was one second! She got distracted for one second and she made a mistake.
- Dr. Charles Percy: That we all nearly got fired for.
- Dr. Jackson Avery: Nose Dive's got a point.
- Dr. Charles Percy: Thank you... What?
- Dr. Alex Karev: We nearly got fired for trying to fix what she screwed up in the first place.
- Dr. Cristina Yang: Yeah, 'cause that's our job.
- [to Lexie]
- Dr. Cristina Yang: What you didn't make any mistakes today?
- [to Alex]
- Dr. Cristina Yang: You've been distracted for the entire week.
- [to Jackson]
- Dr. Cristina Yang: And who knows what you screwed up. But our patients didn't die and that's why we didn't get caught. It could've happened to any one of us.
- Dr. Reed Adamson: They hate us, April. It doesn't matter how good we are, we're gonna fail. Because they were here first and they rule the school and they hate us.
- Dr. April Kepner: I'm not gonna let them turn me into someone they hate, I'm easy to like.
- Dr. Reed Adamson: Actually, it takes a while. I hated you at first.
- Dr. Jackson Avery: [to Cristina] How long do I have to work here before they insert a bug up my ass? You guys are all so cranky.
- Dr. Jackson Avery: These Seattle Grace people are kinda douchey.
- Dr. Charles Percy: Shh.
- [nods over to Alex]
- Dr. Charles Percy: Case and point.
- Dr. Jackson Avery: Douche.
