"I made a mistake"
17 September 2009 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

Whichever way you look at it, this episode is weird.Last episode ended with a car crash and here...we get absolutely no follow-up to it bar a few scenes of Steve wandering around literally doing nothing. Presumably the idea was to build up tension but it actually just demonstrates that the fate of the Parkers is the least interesting thing about this episode.

Elsewhere, we get some scenes between Declan and Kate, who spark off each other a lot better than he and Bridget do.Hopefully someone will notice this and it'll be the shape of things to come. The subplot of Elle sneaking about after Lucas trying to get information about a non-existent story is pretty good as well.

The second least interesting thing about this story:Surrogacy, zzzzz. Susan admitting she made a mistake is indeed a moment you want a cassette recorder for but she's soon back to her usual smug, superior self and then she looks on approvingly as Paul threatens and blackmails Jodie on her behalf like the hypocrite she is.If it resulted in these two hooking up, it might be worth it but they'd never do anything that interesting.Still, Dan bossing her and Toadie about almost makes up for it.
