I better caveat this post before I say anything else by saying that if you’re a keen skier and for whatever reason, aren’t going to go away this season, after watching the trailer that Jon posted a few days ago you’ll very much want to go! I know as I’m very much in that boat!
Chalet Girl looks like one of those rom-coms which will have the same ending as all the rest of them but it probably won’t stop me watching it! The movie is written by Tom Williams, Produced by Wolfgang Behr, Pippa Cross, Dietmar Güntsche, Harriet Rees, directed by Phil Traill and stars Felicity Jones and Tamsin Egerton, Sophia Bush, Brooke Shields, Bill Nighy al with Ed Westwick from Gossip Girl.
Here’s the new poster for the movie which hits UK cinemas 18th February. »

There has been snow in London this weekend and with Christmas fast approaching the white stuff has never been more popular. Which is a rubbish way of introducing a trailer for the new British comedy film Chalet Girl.
Felicity Jones takes the lead in this new film from director Phil Trall whose previous cinema outing is the Sandra Bullock bomb All About Steve and the new trailer shows nothing revolutionary in the offing here but there’s eye candy all round and Bill Nighy and Brooke Shields thrown in with Jones, Tamsin Egerton and Ed Westwick.
It’s a holiday romance in the snow – with class divisions and ugly duckling references front and centre. Take a look – it might well warm your cockles.
Peel back those eyes and prepare your heartstrings to undergo a thorough plucking – here’s the trailer,
This came from MyDaily apparently. »

Opens: March 23rd 2011
Cast: Mel Gibson, Jodie Foster, Anton Yelchin, Jennifer Lawrence
Director: Jodie Foster
Summary: A depressed toy company CEO with a failed marriage starts to wear a beaver puppet on his hand as a form of therapy, much to the initial bemusement of his family. He soon begins talking only through the character.
Analysis: This time last year, excitement was quietly brewing for "The Beaver". Gibson's drunken tirade a few years before hand wasn't forgotten, but enough time had passed that this looked to be the year of a potential comeback for the actor.
The thriller remake "Edge of Darkness" and this were his first on screen roles in ten years, 'Beaver' is also his "Maverick" co-star Foster's return to the director's chair fifteen years after her last feature. The script topped the 2008 Black List and scored rave reviews for its blend of sophisticated humor and sad pathos, »

Back for its third year (see the 2010 edition) and bigger than ever, today kicks off the first in a fifteen-part look at the various cinematic releases hitting the U.S. in 2011. Each 'part' contains brief descriptions and editorial opinion/analysis of varying length covering twenty films. Expect the remaining ones to go up between now and the first major releases in mid-January.
Like all cinematic lists set within a timeframe, there's some overlap. Some films here have already opened worldwide but have yet to hit the U.S., some upcoming films you'd expect to be here aren't because they're either still in development or have already announced 2012 release dates, some were on last year's list but got delayed so have been included again (but with all new analysis).
I confined my list to films that have either set 2011 release dates or had begun/completed production, and only films that have »

A host of young British talent including Ed Westwick, Tamsin Egerton and Georgia King, star in Chalet Girl, an ice cool comedy filled with laughter, romance and kick-ass snowboarding.
Felicity Jones plays feisty 19 year old Kim Matthews who takes on the challenge of her life when she lands a job as a chalet girl in a glitzy ski resort in the Alps.
Assigned to live and work in the luxury chalet of successful businessman Richard Masden (Bill Nighy), she spends her days cooking, cleaning and catering for his family. Propelled into a world of wealth, fun and endless parties, Kim is utterly baffled by this new way of life. Finding it hard to grasp all the rules and be accepted by her uber-posh co-worker Georgie, played by 21 year old Tamsin Egerton (currently filming Camelot) , she quickly finds herself way out of her depth. Georgia King (Tanner Hall) plays Jules, Georgie's privileged and overindulged best friend. »

Exclusive: The London-based producer has started talking to Hollywood agents about directors for Exit Point, a Base jumping action thriller written by Tom Williams (Chalet Girl) and award-winning Sunday Times journalist Ed Caesar. Constance Media hopes to shoot summer 2011 in the UK, France, Norway and United Arab Emirates. Naghdi is pitching this heist movie as “Man On Wire meets Point Break.” Base jumping is the extreme sport of jumping off a skyscraper wearing a parachute. Caesar’s original Sunday Times Magazine article told how two men broke into the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, and base-jumped 155 floors down. Williams and Caesar are repped by Sean Gascoine at United Agents. Naghdi tells me: “Nobody’s done a Base jumping thriller before. When the Europeans do thrillers properly, we do them really well.” Naghdi used to be an entertainment lawyer at City law firm Bird & Bird, where his clients included Woody Allen. »

Hollywoodnews.com: One thing is clear: “Gossip Girl” heartthrob, Ed Westwick, isn’t on team Bella.
In fact, he isn’t fazed by the beauty emanating from the “Twilight” cast.
Speaking to Popsugar about his celebrity crushes, Westwick exclaimed, “They’re all married! Scarlett Johansson is always one. Miranda Kerr is kind of one, but somebody told me she just got engaged. I like the older ones, the ones around my age, the Kristen Stewart’s of the world, don’t really do it for me. I’m a man with the eye on the older girl, I’m afraid.”
And in terms of Westwick’s preference among English-speaking women, he says “Aussie girls number one, English girls number two, American girls number three.”
But overall, what impresses him about a young woman?
“A good sense of dress, one that brings through their sense of self. A good sense of humor. »

Eyewitnesses saw Jessica getting flirty with one of Ed’s best friends!
Ouch! Ed Westwick, 22, had to face two break-ups in two weeks! Not only did his Gossip Girl character Chuck Bass break up with longtime flame Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) on April 5, but now Page Six is reporting that he has also split with girlfriend Jessica Szohr, 25, after rumors swirled that she was spending time with one his best friends, Marco Minuto. “Jessica recently celebrated her birthday in La and was being openly affectionate and flirty with Marco,” a source tells Page Six. “They ended up back at the same hotel, but nobody knows what happened behind closed doors.”
Ed reportedly called Jessica last week after hearing the rumors, prompting Jessica to fly to London — where Ed is currently filming his new movie Chalet Girl – in a desperate attempt to patch things up.
