Warner Bros Pull A Sneaky Monkey By Silently Slipping The Factory Into Theatres

20 December 2011 | Horror Asylum | See recent Horror Asylum news »

Well this sneaked past everyone but the limited run in the Us for Warner Bros' 'The Factory' has kicked off finally. The Morgan O'Neill helmed crime thriller shuffled into theatres under the radar with not so much as a teasing trailer to peak our interests. The Dark Castle production stars John Cusack ('1408', 'The Raven'), Jennifer Carpenter -below ('Dexter'), Sonya Walger ('Lost'), Mae Whitman ('Arrested Development'), Michael Trevino ('The Vampire Diaries'), Ksenia Solo ('Black Swan'), Cindy Sampson ('Supernatural'), Katherine Waterson, Cas Anvar and Dallas Roberts. So even with a pretty decent cast to boast about we can't be too sure why this has gently, and sadly, sneaked in the back door. »

Lockout (2012) International Movie Trailer: Guy Pearce, James Mather

5 December 2011 3:13 PM, PST | Film-Book | See recent Film-Book news »

Lockout Trailer. James Mather, Stephen St. Leger‘s Lockout (2012) international movie trailer stars Guy Pearce, Maggie Grace, Peter Stormare, Lennie James, and Vincent Regan. Lockout‘s plot synopsis: “A man (Pearce) wrongly convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage against the Us is offered freedom if he can rescue the president’s daughter (Maggie Grace) from an outer space prison taken over by violent inmates.”

Guy Pearce’s character does not give a damn in this movie trailer and its hilarious, almost as good Steve Austin‘s questioning scene in The Condemned. That what happens when you feel betrayed by your own country then they come back to you for a favor.

On another note, the montage at the end of this trailer is shabby, badly done.

Lockout also stars Jacky Ido, Tim Plester, Anne-Solenne Hatte, Gary Hetzler, Yan Dron, Charlie Kranz, and Patrick Cauderlier.

Robocop Enters Star Trek 2, Too

5 December 2011 12:00 AM, PST | kidspickflicks | See recent kidspickflicks news »

Update: Peter Weller, the guy who played Robocop in the iconic movies, is joining the cast of Star Trek 2 in an undisclosed role. However, he does fit the description of what was believed to be the elder villain role.

Dec. 1, 2011 -- Alice Eve (She's Out of My League) and Benecio del Toro (The Wolfman) will join J.J. Abrams' Star Trek 2 in undisclosed roles. What is believed is that Eve's character is new to the franchise and del Toro will play a villain. Eve's character may have an accent: Eve is British and she won the role over fellow Brit Hayley Atwell (Captain America: The First Avenger) and Aussie Teresa Palmer (I Am Number Four). One more major role is said to still be available, it's believed it's another, older villain.

Eve will next be seen in The Raven with John Cusack and del Toro's next film is Oliver Stone's star-studded Savages. »

Alice Eve Beams Aboard The Enterprise to Join the Cast of Star Trek 2

1 December 2011 10:00 AM, PST | ScifiMafia | See recent ScifiMafia news »

Just last month, we brought you the news about director J.J. Abrams (Super 8) being set to offer a mysterious villain role in the as yet Untitled Star Trek Sequel to actor Benicio Del Toro (Savages). It was reported that the actor had already met with Abrams, but in an effort to keep the role a secret, even he still didn’t know exactly what the role was.

Now, Variety reports that Alice Eve (The Raven, Men In Black III) has been chosen by J.J. Abrams to join the cast of the sequel, in a role that is reportedly new to Star Trek canon. Sources say that Abrams has one more major role remaining to be cast, and it’s rumored to be a older baddie who is a supporting character to Benicio Del Toro‘s villain.

Variety are reporting that Alice Eve is the latest cadet to sign up for the sequel to the 2009 smash hit. According to Variety, Eve is set to play someone new to the Star Trek universe. Eve was last seen on the big screen in a bit part in Sex and the City 2, but she has a number of high profile releases coming up including roles in Men in Black III and John Cusack’s The Raven. Her casting comes within weeks of Benicio del Toro’s casting as the films main villain. Director Abrams and cast are keeping typically tight lipped on the sequel, and with the film not due until May 17th 2013 we could have a while to wait for any concrete information. Via Variety

Alice Eve Up For The "Star Trek" Sequel

1 December 2011 2:59 AM, PST | Dark Horizons | See recent Dark Horizons news »

Alice Eve ("Entourage," "She's Out of My League") is reportedly in talks to join the cast of J.J. Abrams' untitled "Star Trek" sequel at Paramount Pictures reports Variety.

Though details of her character weren't given, the role is said to be an all new one not previously established in Star Trek canon. Eve beat out Teresa Palmer ("I Am Number Four") and Hayley Atwell ("Captain America: The First Avenger") for the role.

The article adds that unlike Eve, the villain role that Benicio del Toro is up for will be one familiar to Trek fans. Abrams reportedly has just one more major role left to cast, believed to be a secondary villain and older supporting character counterpart to del Toro's main bad guy.

Eve will soon be seen in numerous films including the gothic thriller "The Raven" and the sci-fi action tentpole "Men in Black 3". »

Not only might J.J. Abrams' 2013 3D [1] Star Trek sequel be gaining a new cast member, word is the entire Star Trek universe is gaining one too. Alice Eve, best known for her lead role in She's Out Of My League and pivotal performance in the final season of Entourage, has reportedly beat out several other young actresses for a lead role in the sequel playing a character that's new to the canon. She'll join Benicio Del Toro [2] and one more, yet to be cast, older villain, as the latest additions to the cast of the hit 2009 film. Read more after the jump. Variety broke [3] the news of this casting though, as per the Abrams way, the role is unknown. Immortals Movie Review

22 November 2011 11:18 AM, PST | AreYouScreening.com | See recent AreYouScreening news »

Unfortunately, despite taking its opening weekend, Tarsem Singh's Immortals seems likely to go as under-appreciated as his masterpiece, The Fall. Whether or not it manages to hold onto a solid fanbase, as is the case with the quite similar 300, remains to be seen, but critics have not taken to the film generally.

Usually, the overall consensus of critics at large is something that I'm only accidentally aware of at all, and the fact that moviegoers rate a film in the polar opposite direction simply the natural course of events, but in this case I find it rather perplexing. I say that because the film is so brilliant in so many ways, and at the same time so convoluted and disinterested in explaining itself that you would think the action-adventure would hardly make up for it to Mr. and Mrs. 18-35 year old American. No offense.

Why 'Immortals' Star Luke Evans Might Qualify For the Guinness Book of Records

9 November 2011 1:00 AM, PST | Moviefone | See recent Moviefone news »

Filed under: Celebrity Interviews, Movie News

In Immortals, Luke Evans plays Zeus, an "upgrade," he tells us, from his minor role as the Greek god's son Apollo in 'Clash of the Titans.' As a younger, hotter (and scantily clad) Zeus, Evans might not have a great line like Liam Neeson's "Release the kraken!" but he does get to literally crack the whip in Mount Olympus. 'Immortals' co-star Mickey Rourke sings his praises, saying, "A very great actor. He's going to have a monster career." (Rourke potentially wants to cast him in his movie about Welsh rugby player Gareth Thomas, but Evans, who'll next be seen in 'The Raven' opposite John Cusack, currently has his dance card full making 'The Hobbit' in New Zealand.)
